Breguet introduced the Classique Tourbillon Sidéral 7255 on 26 June 2025, the fourth chapter in its 250th-anniversary celebrations. The date echoes the 26 June 1801 patent for Abraham-Louis Breguet’s tourbillon. The limited edition pairs what the manufacturer calls its first flying tourbillon wristwatch with a “mysterious” construction and a star-speckled aventurine Grand Feu enamel dial.
Why the 7255 marks Breguet’s anniversary
Breguet’s launch article links the watch’s release date, 26 June 2025, to the date Abraham-Louis Breguet received his tourbillon patent in 1801—7 Messidor, Year 9, in the French Republican calendar. The manufacturer says the tourbillon was intended to compensate for gravity’s effects on the regulating organ. Breguet presents the 7255 as the fourth chapter of its 250th-anniversary celebrations. Breguet’s launch article provides that historical framing.
The edition is limited to 50 timepieces, individually numbered from 1/50 to 50/50, according to Breguet. The brand also describes the model as its first flying tourbillon wristwatch. In its launch article, Breguet says: “The House has never ceased to explore the infinite variations of this complication, but this is the first time it is presenting a “flying tourbillon” version.”
What makes the tourbillon “mysterious”
Breguet combines the flying tourbillon with what it calls a “mysterious” construction. Its explanation is that sapphire bridges and a lower support hold the tourbillon cage while remaining visually unobtrusive; the sapphire components receive antireflective treatment. The point where the gears meet the cage is moved outside the aperture and concealed beneath the dial. This describes the manufacturer’s account of the mechanism, rather than an independently tested performance claim.

The dial is deep blue aventurine Grand Feu enamel. Breguet says copper crystals or inclusions catch the light against the blue, creating the star-like appearance that informs “Sidéral” in the model’s name. The company also says this is the first time it has applied aventurine enamel to a grey-gold base.
On the reverse, Breguet’s new Quai de l’Horloge guilloché runs in circular patterns on the caseback and tourbillon support, and in a linear pattern across the main plate. The product pages list a sapphire caseback. For the gold version, Breguet describes its proprietary 18K Breguet-gold alloy as 75% gold, enriched with silver, copper and palladium.

Breguet’s official product pages document two versions. Their listed movement and principal dimensions are shared; the case and clasp materials distinguish them.

Both official listings specify an aventurine Grand Feu enamel dial, an alligator strap, a sapphire caseback and a three-blade deployant clasp. The product pages do not establish a price difference or relative availability between the references.
