Its manually wound, integrated chronograph puts its column wheel and horizontal clutch on display from the dial side, while one discreet pusher at the crown starts, pauses and resets the timing mechanism. It won the 2024 GPHG Chronograph Watch Prize; Massena LAB’s product page now lists it as sold out.
How the single-pusher chronograph works
“Monopoussoir” means the chronograph is operated by one pusher rather than separate start/stop and reset buttons. On this watch, the pusher is discreetly integrated at the crown: press it to start timing, press again to pause, and press again to reset. The sequence makes the control layout unusually simple, though it does not provide separate controls for those actions.
The movement is manually wound and the chronograph is integrated into its architecture, using a column wheel and horizontal clutch. Massena LAB describes the chronograph mechanism as exposed on the dial side, so the moving components are part of the watch’s visible design rather than hidden behind the dial. The listed functions are hours, minutes, small seconds and a 45-minute counter.
Movement and craftsmanship
GPHG lists a 45-hour power reserve and a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour. Massena LAB describes the movement as hand-finished and says the watch is crafted almost entirely by hand in Sylvain Pinaud’s Sainte-Croix atelier. The dial is attributed to Comblémine SA, the dial manufacture owned by Kari Voutilainen, and is described by the brand as drawing on marine chronometers while combining modern design with vintage aesthetics.

The titanium case pairs a polished bezel with grained lugs. Sapphire side windows add views of the dial and movement, complementing the sapphire caseback. A 30 m water-resistance rating is a specification, not an assurance that the watch is suitable for swimming; follow the manufacturer’s guidance for water exposure.
The 20 mm lug width can help identify a replacement strap, but width alone does not establish a match for the supplied Jean Rousseau strap’s leather, lining, finish or buckle. Check strap width, spring-bar fit and buckle compatibility before buying a replacement.

Edition, launch price and current availability
Massena LAB limited production to ten watches and says output was capped at three pieces per year. GPHG records the launch as September 2023 and also identifies it as a ten-piece limited edition. Its record lists CHF 130,000 including VAT; Massena LAB’s product page lists CHF 130,000 and currently displays “sold out.” That is the listed original price and the brand page’s present status, not a verified resale price or proof that no examples are available on the secondary market.

The collaboration won the 2024 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) Chronograph Watch Prize. Massena LAB says it shared the award with Sylvain Pinaud. The result recognizes the watch in the chronograph category; it does not change its production count or indicate present availability.
