Its appeal is primarily visual; its tonneau case size and limited water rating are the practical trade-offs to weigh before buying. The figures below describe the Z Series Hunter launch model introduced in July 2025, not every later watch sold under the Hunter name.
What is the Z Series Hunter?
CIGA Design’s Z Series Hunter is an automatic skeleton watch with hours, minutes and seconds. Its dial exposes much of the movement, while a sapphire crystal and screw-in stainless-steel display caseback provide views from both sides. The launch article describes three finishes: transparent, gray and black DLC.
Fratello Watches introduced the exact model on July 25, 2025, in a post identified as a partnership. Its launch specifications and pricing are useful dated reference points, rather than a current price quote or an independent hands-on assessment. CIGA Design’s current Hunter Steel page corroborates several shared specifications, including the CD-07 movement, dimensions, accuracy and 3 ATM rating.

The movement figures are stated specifications, not results from an independent accuracy or endurance test. The current Hunter Steel page also lists a curved sapphire crystal and a 316L steel bracelet; those details corroborate the family’s current presentation but should not be used to silently redefine every element of the 2025 launch configuration.

How the size and design affect the buying decision
Case fit
The 43 mm width, 48 mm length and tonneau shape make this a substantial case, even at 12.9 mm thick. The listed length is especially relevant to how the watch spans a wrist; width alone does not capture that. If possible, compare the full 48 mm length with a watch you already wear comfortably, or try the Hunter on before ordering.
Skeleton legibility
The open-worked dial is the defining visual feature, not a conventional, uncluttered face. Luminous markers at the four cardinal positions provide reference points, but the available specifications do not establish how easily the hands can be read in every lighting condition. If fast time-reading matters more than seeing the movement, compare it with a simpler dial in person.

Bracelet and replacements
The launch bracelet uses 22 mm end links. That measurement may help when looking for accessories, but it does not by itself prove that a generic 22 mm strap will fit the case attachment or work with the watch’s clasp. Confirm compatibility for the exact variant before buying a replacement.
What 3 ATM means for everyday use
The launch model is rated to 3 ATM, so it is not the choice to make for swimming or diving. Water-resistance ratings are not a promise that a watch is suitable for every wet activity; follow CIGA Design’s current use guidance and keep water exposure conservative. Do not transfer the 5 ATM rating shown on the separate Hunter Titanium page to this Z Series Hunter.

Is the Z Series Hunter worth buying?
It may suit a buyer who specifically wants an exposed mechanical movement, display back and sculptural tonneau case, and who is comfortable with the stated dimensions and 3 ATM rating. Its stated CD-07 figures—40 hours of reserve, 28,800 vph and accuracy of -15 to +25 seconds per day—give useful comparison points, but they do not establish real-world performance or long-term reliability.
Before deciding, compare it with alternatives on case length and shape, dial readability, movement specifications, water resistance, materials and finish. Also check bracelet sizing and attachment, local service options, warranty terms, and the total current price from the seller in your country. The evidence available here does not establish hands-on comfort, servicing cost or comparative value.

Price, availability and model distinctions
Fratello reported a US$499 price and two-year warranty for the three Z Series Hunter versions on CIGA Design’s official website when its partnership article appeared on July 25, 2025. That is historical launch information, not a verified current universal price. An exact-model listing appears at the CIGA Design Official Store on Shopee Thailand, while a Beslist.nl product-comparison result identifies an Amazon Partners offer. Neither establishes current stock or pricing in every country; check the exact reference, seller, currency, shipping, taxes and warranty before ordering.
CIGA Design now uses Hunter for a broader family. The Hunter Titanium is a different variant, with titanium construction and a listed 5 ATM rating. Those specifications are not the Z Series Hunter launch specifications. CIGA Design describes its design approach on that Titanium page with the phrase, “For CIGA design, skeleton is a structural language, not decoration.” That is the brand’s own framing, not an independent assessment of the Z Series Hunter.
