The blue-dial MIDO Baroncelli Chronograph Moonphase is reference M027.625.17.041.00: a 42 mm automatic watch combining a chronograph with day, month, hand-date, 24-hour and moonphase displays. Its polished dress-watch styling and blue rubber strap make “handsome” a fair design judgment; the dimensions and functions below are MIDO’s published specifications.
What is the blue Baroncelli Chronograph Moonphase?
MIDO identifies the blue version as reference M027.625.17.041.00. It belongs to the Baroncelli collection and pairs a blue dial with a blue rubber strap. The watch’s calendar and timing displays give it a more information-rich face than a simple dress watch, while its round steel case and restrained color scheme keep the design formal in character. That impression is subjective; the specifications are from MIDO’s international product page.

These figures describe the blue reference specifically. MIDO characterizes the movement as a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, but the page does not provide accuracy tolerances or independent test results. Its listed reserve is “up to” 60 hours; the figure should not be read as an independently verified measurement.
How the chronograph, calendar and moonphase displays work
MIDO lists the chronograph alongside small seconds and a 24-hour indication, plus day, month and hand-date displays. The moonphase appears through an aperture in the dial. MIDO describes a rotating disc that shows lunar phases over a 29.5-day cycle. This is the brand’s account of the display, not an independent timing test.

#1 Best Overall
- Swiss Made Watch
- Movement: Automatic Mido Caliber - Power reserve 60 hours
- Case Type: Stainless steel - See-through case back
- Case Size: 42mm - Band Width: 22mm - Case Thickness: 13.32mm
- Crystal: Sapphire crystal with double sided anti-reflection treatment
Because the dial carries several indications, the layout may appeal to someone who wants calendar and timing functions in one watch. Whether it remains easy to read at a glance will depend on personal preference and viewing conditions; no independent legibility assessment is established here.
Case size, strap fit and water resistance
How 42 mm and 13.3 mm may wear
The 42 mm case and 13.3 mm average thickness are substantial figures for a watch with dress-watch styling. The 22 mm lug width offers a clear starting point when looking for replacement straps, but width alone does not guarantee compatibility: strap-end shape, attachment design and clearance also matter. MIDO lists the supplied blue rubber strap under reference M603018902.

What the 3-bar rating tells you
MIDO specifies water resistance to 3 bar (30 m / 100 ft). That is the stated rating, not a promise that this particular watch is suitable for swimming or diving. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for water exposure and have water resistance checked as part of appropriate watch care.

A MIDO manual titled “Baroncelli Chronograph” describes a watch with date, day, month, moon phases and a 24-hour display, and names calibre 1321, based on ETA Valjoux 7751, with an approximate 46-hour reserve. The available listing does not establish that this manual applies to M027.625.17.041.00; its movement and reserve figures differ from the current blue product-page listing. Do not use it to identify the blue model’s calibre or settings without confirming the reference. The manual is available at MIDO’s Baroncelli Chronograph manual.
