What changed in the redesign?
Fratello describes the update as evolutionary rather than a wholesale redesign. The ProPilot Date retains its angled, turbine-inspired bezel fluting and aviation styling, while gaining a redesigned case, a thinner profile than the preceding model, textured dials in three colors and an oversized crown intended to improve grip.
The movement remains the automatic Oris 733 rather than switching to Oris Calibre 400. Fratello characterizes the watch as an “everyday adventure watch”; that is the publication’s positioning, not a quoted Oris statement.

Dial and legibility details
Fratello lists textured black, chalk gray and moss green dials. Each has applied Arabic numerals, lume-tipped hands, orange accents and a date window. The article does not provide further detail about the lume material or date-window position.
How to judge the dimensions
The reported 41 mm diameter gives only part of the fit picture: the 49 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 11.7 mm thickness also matter when comparing the watch with your wrist and preferred proportions. Fratello had not yet had a hands-on opportunity when its article was published, so these figures do not amount to an independent fit assessment.

Bracelet and strap configurations
Fratello describes two configurations, both with folding clasps. The bracelet version uses a steel bracelet with an Oris LIFT clasp; the alternative pairs the watch with a suede strap and folding clasp.

Who might prefer this version?
- Choose the bracelet configuration if you want the steel-bracelet setup and its LIFT folding clasp.
- Choose the suede-strap configuration if that material and clasp combination better suits your preferences.
- Compare the dial colors in person if color and texture are deciding factors; the three listed choices are black, chalk gray and moss green.
- Check the dimensions against your fit preferences before buying, particularly the 49 mm lug-to-lug length as well as the 41 mm diameter.
On the evidence in Fratello’s introduction, the redesign is best understood as a set of case and dial refinements around a retained movement, not a new caliber-led generation. Verify the exact configuration, current price and availability with a retailer before purchase.
