The Ressence TYPE 9 S75 puts sand from all seven United Arab Emirates on a domed titanium dial, with the grains bonded to its moving hour and minute discs. Created with Dubai retailer Ahmed Seddiqi for its 75th anniversary, the 20-piece edition launched in June 2025 and is now sold out, according to the retailer.

The sand dial is the TYPE 9 S75’s defining feature. Ressence and Ahmed Seddiqi say its sand was gathered in equal proportions from the dunes of all seven UAE Emirates and bonded onto the titanium discs that indicate the hours and minutes. The domed surface gives the grains a landscape-like setting, while the indication moves with Ressence’s orbiting display rather than conventional fixed hands.
The watch was created for Ahmed Seddiqi’s 75th anniversary. In the joint release dated 9 June 2025, Ahmed Seddiqi CEO Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi described it as a tribute to the UAE’s landscape and heritage; Ressence founder Benoît Mintiens connected the moving display with the motion of sand in an hourglass.
How the ROCS 9 display works
The patented ROCS 9 module is driven by the minute axle of a customised automatic base calibre. It displays only hours and minutes: the indications travel around the dial rather than being read from a conventional pair of hands. The release does not identify the base calibre by model, so a more specific calibre name is not established by the primary launch specification.

The launch specifications list a 36-hour power reserve, a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, 31 jewels, 20 gears and four ball bearings. The watch is wound and set from the caseback, which rotates in two directions; Ressence specifies 12 degrees of manual winding.
Case, dimensions and wearing details
The polished Grade 5 titanium case measures 39 mm across and 11 mm thick. It is topped by a domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on its inner surface. The launch release lists the watch at 40 grams and gives its water resistance as 1 ATM, making this a splash-resistant watch rather than one specified for swimming.

Edition, launch price and availability
Ressence’s press center and the joint release specify a limited run of 20 pieces. The release announced a launch date of 16 June 2025 and a price of CHF 15,500 excluding taxes, with exclusive availability through Ahmed Seddiqi reported at launch. That figure is the historical launch price, not a current offer or an indication of resale value.
