Its headline features are distinctive rather than mechanical: an inverted, logo-bearing 12 o’clock marker, a red seconds hand, and stitching-inspired accents on the dial ring and nylon strap. Inside is Seiko’s automatic 4R36 movement, with day/date display and approximately 41 hours of power reserve.
What makes the SRPL35 a DENHAM collaboration?
Seiko describes the watch as a “Jeanmaker’s Watch” and bases it on the 5 Sports SKX series. Indigo shades across the bezel, dial, and strap give the watch its denim reference without making the case or strap denim: the case is stainless steel and the strap is nylon. - Inverted 12 o’clock marker: The dial’s triangle is turned upside down from the customary orientation on the standard SKX and carries the DENHAM logo.
- Red seconds hand: Its color references the red rivets used on DENHAM denim.
- Stitching motifs: Stitch-like details appear on the dial ring and nylon strap.
- Branded finishing: The see-through screw caseback and special box carry DENHAM branding and the phrase “THE TRUTH IS IN THE DETAILS.”
These are the collaboration’s clearest points of difference from a standard SKX-style Seiko 5 Sports; the published specifications do not indicate a different movement or added complication.

These are Seiko’s published specifications, not results from an independent timing or wear test. The 42.5 mm diameter and 13.4 mm thickness are useful starting points when judging fit, but do not by themselves establish how the watch will wear on a particular wrist.

Seiko states that 2,000 SRPL35 pieces were made worldwide. Japan’s allocation is a separate figure: Seiko’s Japanese store page lists 250 pieces for that market. It should not be read as the global edition size.

Is the limited edition worth considering?
The practical case for the SRPL35 rests on whether its particular collaboration design appeals to you. The 4R36, day/date display, 10 bar water resistance, Hardlex crystal, and nylon strap are clearly specified; the DENHAM logos, indigo treatment, reversed marker, red seconds hand, and stitching motifs provide the model-specific character. The 2,000-piece production figure establishes that it is a limited edition, but it does not establish resale value or make the watch a better purchase at any particular price.
For a comparison with another Seiko 5 Sports model, focus on the dimensions, movement and functions, materials, and market-specific price rather than the limited-edition label alone. Seiko’s pages document the SRPL35’s specifications and design; they do not provide a hands-on comparison or evidence about long-term durability.
