The SpaceOne Tellurium is an automatic wristwatch with a mechanical display that places representations of Earth and the Moon in relation to the Sun. Its calendar shows the date and month, and its distinctive complication is the reason to consider the watch. SpaceOne’s standard version starts at €2,990 before VAT; calling it “accessible” is a relative editorial description, not an independently established value judgment.
What does the SpaceOne Tellurium display?
On the dial, the Sun is the reference point for a moving representation of Earth, with the Moon shown in relation to it. The display accompanies a date-and-month calendar. It is a mechanical watch complication—not a live astronomical instrument—and should not be treated as a scientific measurement of the positions of celestial bodies.
SpaceOne describes the complication as patented and mechanically linked to the calendar. The company says the module is built on an additional plate connected to the movement. As the date advances, a 31-tooth star wheel drives two 12-tooth wheels for the month and tellurium functions. A 365-tooth ring carries the Earth representation, while the Moon is mounted on a pinion visible from outside the dial. How does the calendar and tellurium adjustment work?
The company says the display is coupled to the calendar and that the crown’s date function is used for correction. Because months have different lengths, the calendar needs manual correction after shorter months; SpaceOne also describes fine-tuning through time-setting after month-length adjustments. Follow the instructions supplied with the specific watch when setting it. Who designed and assembled the Tellurium?
SpaceOne credits watchmaker Théo Auffret with designing the complication and Olivier Gamiette with the case and dial design. The brand says the module is manufactured in Switzerland and assembled in Paris. These origin and authorship details are manufacturer claims. Its explanatory page also reports process figures—including 37 complication components, 18 casing components, 65 operations, and a 48-hour testing phase—which should be understood as SpaceOne’s own account, not independently audited performance data. SpaceOne’s official collection listing showed multiple Tellurium variants marked sold out when indexed, and the standard product page also displayed sold-out status.
