The Nodus Sector II Dive GMT is a compact-styled automatic watch with a second-time-zone hand, dive-watch bezel, and a manufacturer-stated 100 m water-resistance rating. It is a credible affordable travel-watch candidate, but “best” is a matter of preference—not a result established by a market-wide comparison. Nodus listed the Seafoam version at $575 when its product page was accessed in 2026, but marked it sold out.

What the Sector II Dive GMT offers

Nodus pairs a GMT hand with a diver-style layout: a 24-hour GMT scale, a 120-click unidirectional bezel, and a screw-down crown. The manufacturer identifies the movement as the TMI NH34. This is a caller-style GMT: the GMT hand tracks a second time zone, but the available sources do not establish independently tested travel-timekeeping performance.

For a traveler, the practical appeal is being able to keep one time zone on the GMT hand while reading local time from the main hands. The bezel adds a separate elapsed-time function; because it turns in one direction, it is suited to tracking elapsed time rather than serving as a second independently adjustable time zone.

Specifications and fit

Specification Published figure
Case width 38 mm
Bezel width 40 mm
Thickness 11.9 mm
Lug-to-lug 47 mm
Lug width 20 mm
Movement TMI NH34 GMT
Jewels 24
Power reserve 41 hours, per Nodus
Regulated accuracy ±10 seconds per day, per Nodus; no independent test is established here
Water resistance 100 meters, per Nodus
Bezel 120-click unidirectional, per Nodus

All listed dimensions and specifications are manufacturer-published figures from Nodus’s product page, accessed in 2026. The 40 mm bezel is wider than the 38 mm case, so the watch may look broader than its case-width figure suggests. Its 47 mm lug-to-lug is also worth considering: case width alone does not tell you how it will sit on your wrist.

How suitable is it for travel and water?

For time-zone tracking

The NH34-based GMT hand makes the watch useful for keeping a second time-zone reference. The cited sources identify the movement and its GMT function but do not document independent testing of accuracy, adjustment behavior, or performance during travel. If precise synchronization matters, assess the specific movement-setting instructions and your own tolerance for mechanical-watch timekeeping.

For swimming and diving

Nodus states 100 m water resistance and lists a screw-down crown and unidirectional bezel. Those features support a water-oriented design, but the cited product information does not establish independent water-resistance testing or dive-watch certification. Do not treat the rating as proof of suitability for every underwater activity; follow Nodus’s current guidance and have water resistance checked as the watch ages or is serviced.

Bracelet and strap options

Nodus specifies a bracelet that tapers from 20 mm at the lugs to 16 mm, with quick-release spring bars and the brand’s proprietary extension clasp. The 20 mm lug width makes a 20 mm strap a plausible alternative, but confirm the fit of any strap’s end, spring bars, and buckle before buying. The manufacturer’s product page is the source for these bracelet details.

Price, availability, and the “best” claim

Nodus listed the Seafoam variant from $575 when its product page was accessed in 2026 and marked it sold out. The page described that colorway as discontinued and said new colorways were coming in October 2026. That announcement is not confirmation that another version is currently available, so check the maker’s listing for the exact color, price, and stock before deciding.

Fratello reviewer Jorg Weppelink called the watch his pick under €500 in an August 27, 2025 review. His review listed a US$525 price at that time; it is historical context, not the later manufacturer-listed price. His conclusion reflected his own assessment of the watch’s appearance, proportions, finishing, and bracelet comfort, rather than a market-wide test. He compared it favorably with Seiko 5 Sports GMT options and the Zelos Blacktip GMT diver, but the cited sources do not provide consistent current prices and specifications for those alternatives.

To make a useful comparison, check the specific versions available in your market for price and stock, case dimensions, GMT setting behavior and movement, water-resistance rating and bezel, bracelet adjustment and strap options, warranty, service access, and return terms. Without a current like-for-like comparison, the Sector II is better described as a strong candidate than as an objectively proven best buy.

Who should consider it?

  • Consider it if you want an automatic GMT with a diver-style bezel, a 38 mm case width, and a bracelet with quick-release bars and an extension clasp.
  • Check the fit first if your wrist is sensitive to lug-to-lug length: the published measurement is 47 mm, and the bezel measures 40 mm across.
  • Look elsewhere or compare carefully if your choice depends on a confirmed in-stock colorway, independent water-resistance evidence, or a current price advantage over particular Seiko or Zelos models.
