The Jacob & Co. Astronomia Art Phoenix is a one-piece, 47 mm white-gold watch built around a moving tableau: a sculpted rose-gold phoenix and four rotating arms carrying a diamond, a globe, a time dial and a double-axis tourbillon. Monochrome’s 2020 hands-on review reported a retail price of USD 1,000,000; a Bucherer Switzerland listing observed on October 8, 2026 shows CHF 1,081,000 including VAT and asks shoppers to inquire about availability.
What is the Astronomia Art Phoenix?
The Art Phoenix is a highly elaborate member of Jacob & Co.’s Astronomia collection, identified in Monochrome’s 2020 review as reference AT112.30.AA.UA.ABALA. It combines a time display with a continuously moving mechanical spectacle, set beneath a domed sapphire crystal. Monochrome described the reviewed watch as a unique piece.
The name is easy to confuse with another watch. The GPHG database entry titled Astronomia Sky Phoenix is reference AT112.30.AA.UA.A, a separate model. Its July 2020 launch date and listed CHF 1,077,000 price belong to the Sky Phoenix, not the Art Phoenix.
How the moving display works
At the center is a carousel with four arms. Each carries a distinct element, turning the watch face into a kinetic display rather than a conventional arrangement of fixed hands and markers.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Diamond: A 1-carat, 288-facet Jacob-cut diamond rotates on its own axis once per minute.
- Globe: A hand-lacquered magnesium globe also completes one rotation per minute.
- Time dial: A satellite dial displays hours and minutes.
- Tourbillon: A double-axis tourbillon sits on the fourth arm; Monochrome’s technical specifications state that its second cage rotates once every five minutes.
The motion is the point: the diamond, globe and tourbillon are not static ornaments around a dial, but components carried by the watch’s animated architecture.
The phoenix sculpture and finishing
The namesake phoenix is a sculptural element in the watch’s construction. Monochrome reports that it is cast in multiple sections of 18k rose gold, then polished and finished, assembled, and hand-engraved. The review says one artist spent seven months on the sculpture. That reported figure refers to the phoenix work, not to a stated total assembly time for the complete watch.
