What is the Blue Sapphire Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon?
It is a blue-sapphire version of the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon, the watch created to pay tribute to Bugatti’s Chiron and its W16 engine. Jacob & Co.’s official site lists a “Blue Sapphire Crystal with Rose Gold Backplate” variant, confirming the model name and the combination of blue sapphire and a rose-gold backplate. The page available at Jacob & Co. does not expose enough detail to verify all of this variant’s specifications.
Bugatti and Jacob & Co. announced the Chiron Tourbillon on April 20, 2020, describing it as the first all-new timepiece of their partnership, signed in 2019. Bugatti’s launch account explains that the case draws on the Chiron’s flowing lines, while the movement is presented beneath sapphire crystal as an engine block. The watch is therefore more than a blue-material variation: its signature is an animated mechanical display designed around the car’s powertrain.
Is the Blue Sapphire version one of one?
A report by Joey Humphrey published on August 27, 2021 described the Blue Sapphire watch as a unique piece, saying only one would be made. That makes “one of one” a reported edition size, not an independently verified official specification. Jacob & Co.’s official Blue Sapphire page confirms the variant’s name but does not establish its production quantity in the material available.

Jacob & Co.’s standard Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon Rose Gold listing says that version is limited to 72 pieces. That is the edition size for the listed Rose Gold model, not proof of the Blue Sapphire piece’s production number; the two claims concern different variants.
How much does the Blue Sapphire watch cost?
The August 27, 2021 Fake Luxury Watches article reported a price of $1.5 million for the Blue Sapphire piece. Treat that as a dated secondary report, not a current price or verified official retail quote. The official variant page available here does not provide a price, and the report does not establish present-day availability or value.

How does the miniature W16 engine animation work?
The right-hand crown activates the animation. Bugatti says that the crankshaft turns, the pistons move up and down, and two miniature parts described as “turbochargers” spin. The watch’s animated engine represents the Chiron’s W16, but it is a mechanical display rather than a working automobile engine. Bugatti’s release notes that the real Chiron engine has four turbochargers; the watch animation depicts two.
Bugatti’s launch release says the movement has 578 components. The movement is suspended at four points styled to evoke the car’s shock absorbers, and sapphire crystal forms the top and sides. The release describes the crown-activated action this way: “Pushing the right-hand crown of the timepiece, the engine comes to life – the crankshaft turns and the pistons pump up and down, just like a true internal combustion engine.”

Which specifications are confirmed, and which belong to the Rose Gold model?
The official standard-model listing provides a useful reference for the Chiron Tourbillon family, but its published specifications are for the Rose Gold model. They should not automatically be attributed to the Blue Sapphire one-off.

Is this the same watch as the later Bugatti Tourbillon?
No. The Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon is a tribute to the Chiron and its W16 engine. Bugatti’s later Bugatti Tourbillon timepiece is associated with the newer Tourbillon hypercar and uses a V16 engine-block automaton. Bugatti’s 2025 horology history describes that later watch as a subsequent chapter in the partnership, not another name for the Chiron Tourbillon.
