Lapinist lists sapphire replacement assemblies for selected vintage Grand Seiko and King Seiko case references—not for every watch in either range. Before ordering, match the complete case number on your watch to the compatibility list on the specific product page. The listings describe a crystal-and-metal-ring assembly; they do not establish a universal installation method or guarantee of water resistance.
How to check whether a Lapinist crystal fits
Use the full case reference, not just the brand, movement number, or a visual resemblance. Lapinist publishes supported references on each product page, and the examples below are not a complete catalog. Check the live listing before purchase because compatibility and availability can change.
300V16GNS: selected 56-series models
Lapinist lists the 300V16GNS sapphire crystal for Grand Seiko 5645-7010, 5645-7011, 5646-7010, and 5646-7011. The page also lists specified King Seiko references in the 5621, 5625, and 5626 series. Compare your entire case number against the maker’s full list; a matching series prefix alone is not enough.
300V05GNS: selected 45-series models
The 300V05GNS listing names Grand Seiko 4520-7000, 4520-7001, 4520-7010, 4522-7000, 4522-7001, and 4522-7010. It also lists King Seiko 45-7000 and 45-7001, along with specified 4500- and 4502-series references. The maker describes this replacement within the 300V05GNS and 300V07GNS reference family; consult the page for the complete compatibility information.
300V04GNS: selected King Seiko references
Lapinist’s 300V04GNS page lists selected King Seiko 5625 and 5626 references. Use that page to verify the full case number rather than assuming compatibility across all watches in those series.
What the replacement assembly includes
These listings describe more than a loose sapphire disc. For the 300V16GNS, Lapinist specifies an anti-reflective-coated sapphire crystal attached with Seiko S-314 UV adhesive to a 316L stainless-steel ring. The page says no gasket is included and that the existing gasket can be reused. That gasket note applies to the 300V16GNS listing; check the individual page for details on other parts.

- Three-fold clasp with push button release
- Dual-curved sapphire crystal
- Power reserve display on the back
- Power resrve Approx. 72 hours(3 days)
Lapinist’s 300V05GNS listing also specifies anti-reflective-coated sapphire and Seiko S-314 UV adhesive. Fratello’s February 14, 2024 report on Lapinist’s launch provides context for the metal ring: some older Seiko crystal designs use a frame around the crystal’s base, and the report says Lapinist machines replacement rings from 316L stainless steel. The maker’s current listing remains the place to check specifications for a particular part.

| Option | What to verify | Trade-off to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Listed Lapinist assembly | Exact case reference and current product details on the relevant Lapinist page. | The product pages specify sapphire assemblies, but individual owners must decide whether that replacement suits their priorities for the watch. |
| Original Seiko crystal | That the part is genuinely appropriate for the exact reference and is available in suitable condition. | An original period part may matter to an owner prioritizing originality; the cited sources do not establish availability for any particular watch. |
| Specialist sourcing and fitting | Whether the watchmaker can assess the case and source or fit a suitable crystal. | This adds professional assessment; the service listing does not promise a specific part, installation method, or outcome. |
The Seikologist lists vintage Seiko service and crystal repair or replacement among its services. Treat that as evidence that this type of specialist work is offered, not as a guarantee of service for every reference.

What to confirm before ordering or fitting
- Read the complete case reference from the watch and compare every part of it with the maker’s compatibility list.
- Check the specific product page for what is included, including any gasket information; do not transfer one model’s listing details to another.
- Decide whether a sapphire replacement or an original period crystal better matches your priorities for the watch.
- Ask a watchmaker to assess the watch if you are unsure about the part or installation. The available product and service information does not establish a universal fitting procedure or water-resistance result.
- Recheck current price and availability on the live product page. A captured 300V04GNS listing displayed €120, but that is not a durable quote.
