Fratello reviewer Nacho Conde Garzón found the case comfortable on his 17.75 cm wrist and praised the dial depth, while noting some wobble in the rubber-strap connection. Leica’s US page displayed prices of $7,000 for the steel version and $7,600 for the titanium versions when accessed on October 7, 2026; whether that premium makes sense depends largely on how much you value the design and the Leica name.
What the Leica ZM 11 is
Introduced in October 2023, the ZM 11 is a collection of automatic three-hand watches with a date, offered in steel or Grade 5 titanium. Its signature feature is a dual-layer dial, with a printed minute track and inner bezel. Leica describes the Launch Edition’s black-to-red appearance as an effect that changes with viewing angle and says the gradient is mechanically created rather than printed.
The collection comprises three versions. The Titanium Launch Edition has a black-and-red dial and was limited to 250 watches at launch. Titanium Coffee Black has a warm-black dial, while Steel Midnight Blue pairs blue and black. These are meaningful differences in material and visual character; the Launch Edition’s original production limit does not establish how many remain available today.
How the case wears
Leica specifies a 41 mm case, 13 mm thickness, and 100 m/10 ATM water resistance. The stated weights—78 g for steel and 61 g for titanium—are case-only figures, not complete watch weights. Fratello reviewer Nacho Conde Garzón reported a 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and said the watch sat comfortably on his 17.75 cm (7-inch) wrist. He found it wore slimmer than its 13 mm specification suggests, partly because of the domed crystals. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a fit guarantee for every wrist.

Fratello also weighed one unsized steel sample on its bracelet at 179 g. That figure describes that sample and configuration; it should not be compared directly with Leica’s case-only weights.
What stands out on the dial and movement
Layered dial and finishing
The two-layer construction gives the dial depth beyond a flat color treatment. Leica says the Launch Edition shifts visually from black toward red with the viewing angle. In his review of all three variants, Garzón said the Launch Edition’s red accents became fully visible at an angle. He also praised the diamond-cut hand finishing and color-matched date window. These are observations from the reviewer’s samples; the appearance may vary with angle and lighting.

Leica specifies Swiss Grade A Super-LumiNova on the hands and indices. Garzón found lume performance differed between his samples and reported that the Launch Edition’s black lume was less effective in his experience.
LA-3001 automatic caliber
Leica says the LA-3001 caliber was developed with Swiss movement developer Chronode SA. It is an automatic mechanical movement with hours, minutes, central seconds, and a quick-set date. Leica lists 35 jewels, a frequency of 28,800 A/h (4 Hz), approximately 60 hours of power reserve, and stated precision of -4/+6 seconds per day measured in five positions. Its crown is screw-down and provides quick date change and time-setting modes.

Fratello describes the LA-3001 as Leica’s first proprietary automatic caliber. The reviewer reported that three sample movements tested at Fratello HQ averaged +4 seconds per day on a timegrapher. That result applies to those samples and is not a universal performance claim or independent certification. The reviewer also noted ruthenium plating, sandblasted bridges, brushed edges, polished chamfers, and blued screws.
Easy-Change bands: useful system, limited evidence
Leica’s Easy-Change system is designed for the collection’s specified rubber, Cordura fabric, steel, and titanium bands. Leica’s launch release describes pressing the red dot to change the watch’s appearance. The available evidence does not establish generic strap compatibility, so buyers should treat this as a system for Leica’s stated band options rather than assume standard aftermarket straps will fit.

Garzón found the rubber strap comfortable and robust-feeling, but reported some wobble at the interface. He said it needed to be aligned and pressed in while the release button was depressed. He found the titanium bracelet fitted more solidly, with virtually no wobble, and described its sizing as a pin-and-collar system. He did not receive the textile strap, so he could not assess it. He also felt the clasp could be improved.

Prices depend on the source, market, date, and band configuration. Leica Camera USA displayed the prices below on its collection page accessed October 7, 2026. Each listing showed a “Notify Me” control; that page state does not establish stock status or what an authorized retailer may charge.

Separately, Leica’s October 11, 2023 US launch release gave recommended retail prices from $6,775 for the steel model with a rubber or fabric band to $8,150 for the titanium model with a full titanium band. Those are launch prices for specified configurations, not a current price quote.
Who should consider the Leica ZM 11?
The ZM 11 makes the most sense for someone drawn to its layered dial, case design, and Leica identity, and willing to pay a luxury-watch price for that combination. Garzón’s conclusion was similarly personal: he saw the collection as best suited to buyers already drawn to Leica more broadly or specifically to the design, and advised interested readers to try one in person. The available sources do not establish a market-wide measure of value, comparative price index, reliability record, or long-term durability statistic, so a broader claim that the premium is objectively justified would go beyond the evidence.
Before choosing a version, compare the material and the band you actually want, not just the dial color. The titanium case is lighter by Leica’s case-only figures; the steel version has the lower displayed US price. If you prefer the bracelet, note that the reviewer found its connection more solid than the rubber strap’s. For fit and finish impressions, an in-person try-on is particularly useful at this price.
