The watches it discusses firsthand in that article are the 2024 redesign, not the Time Zone.
Louis Vuitton’s current US Escale catalog shows how the collection now spans time-only watches as well as Worldtime, Twin Zone, and Minute Repeater models. That catalog describes the current collection; it does not confirm that the older Time Zone remains on sale.
What the name does—and does not—tell you
“Time Zone” should not be treated as shorthand for the Worldtime or Twin Zone complications. Louis Vuitton’s current travel-complications overview describes the Worldtime as showing 24 time zones and the Twin Zone as displaying two time zones, including zones with non-standard offsets. Those are current, separate models and do not establish how the older Time Zone displays or adjusts a second time zone.

Escale Worldtime
The current Worldtime is the clearest documented comparison for a traveler who wants a broad world-time display. Louis Vuitton says it indicates 24 zones using city initials, with a jumping hour disc. The brand’s Netherlands product page identifies the specific platinum example as a 40 mm watch and lists its movement and other specifications in the table above. Neither its complication nor those technical details should be attributed to the older Time Zone.
Escale Twin Zone
Louis Vuitton describes the current Twin Zone as a dual-time watch able to show two zones, including non-standard offsets. This provides a useful contrast in the present collection, but the source does not give a technical comparison with the Time Zone or establish that the older watch works the same way.

2024 time-only Escale
The redesigned 2024 Escale is a time-only collection foundation, not a replacement name for the Time Zone. Its LFT023 movement specifications belong to that redesign and its movement family; they do not fill the documentation gap for the earlier model.

For context only, WatchTime reported 2024 launch prices of $27,500 for rose gold and $37,000 for platinum for the redesigned, time-only Escale. Separately, Louis Vuitton’s Netherlands product page displayed €95,500 for a current 40 mm platinum Escale Worldtime when accessed in 2026. These are different watches, markets, and dates—not prices for the Time Zone.
What to verify before buying a pre-owned example
Because the reference-level documentation and current market value are not established, assess a specific watch rather than relying on the model name alone. A resale listing has used the wording “Escale Time Zone 39 Automatic ref. Q5D20,” but that is a listing-level lead, not verified manufacturer documentation.
- Exact reference and identity: Ask for clear photographs of the watch, case markings, and accompanying paperwork. Match the reference to manufacturer documentation or a qualified watchmaker’s assessment rather than assuming a listing description is authoritative.
