The original LÜM-TEC Combat B7 is described in a 2010 aBlogtoWatch video as a 43 mm black steel pilot-style watch with a carbon-fiber dial, an automatic Seiko movement and two NATO-style straps. The available description does not identify the movement caliber or establish the watch’s exact water-resistance rating, lug width, price or present-day service support. That makes the B7 an intriguing but documentation-dependent used-watch purchase.
What is the LÜM-TEC Combat B7?
The B7 was part of LÜM-TEC’s B series of pilot watches. In the description accompanying its verified video review, published September 12, 2010, aBlogtoWatch identifies a black 43 mm steel case, carbon-fiber dial, automatic Seiko movement and two NATO-style straps. The description is brief; it does not provide a full specification sheet or measured wearing impressions. Read the aBlogtoWatch video listing.

Those details are the strongest available model-specific evidence here, not a complete technical record. In particular, “automatic Seiko movement” does not establish a caliber number. A listing that describes another configuration should be checked against the watch itself and any reliable reference documentation.
What movement and specifications are confirmed?
The available review description names an automatic Seiko movement but does not state its exact caliber. It also does not confirm the B7’s lug width, crystal material, thickness, lug-to-lug measurement, original price or water-resistance rating.

- Lum-Tec Combat B60 24HRS Automatic Watch Timeless design meets exceptional functionality, crafted in Ohio, USA.
- Titanium Carbide gunmetal PVD-coated 316L Surgical Grade Stainless Steel case with 200 meters water resistance for durability and versatility.
- Miyota Japan 9075 movement with 24-hour layout, hacking, and handwinding features ensures precise timekeeping.
- Curved sapphire crystal with military-grade AR coating and two-tone X1 Super-Luminova offer clear legibility in any light.
- Limited to 300 worldwide editions, each includes two military-style straps and lifetime free adjustments, catering to collectors and adventurers alike.
Do not fill those gaps with specifications for the later Combat B71. LÜM-TEC’s current B71 product page lists a 43 mm forged 316L stainless-steel case, 22 mm lug width, 13.6 mm thickness including domed sapphire, 51.5 mm lug-to-lug, 200 m water resistance, a Swiss Ronda 515 movement, sapphire crystal, two nylon straps and a two-year limited warranty. Those are B71 specifications, not confirmed B7 facts. See LÜM-TEC’s Combat B71 page.
The B71 page also makes company claims about case construction and sealing, including a claimed 37% fatigue-strength increase over typical cast steel and a sealing-system improvement of over 200% since the original Combat B1. These are manufacturer claims about the current B71 and Combat-series lineage, not independent tests of the B7. They do not establish the original B7’s performance.
How does the B7 wear, and what strap fits?
The 43 mm case measurement suggests a substantial watch on paper, but the available B7 description does not give lug-to-lug length, thickness or first-hand fit observations. Case diameter alone cannot tell you how it will sit on your wrist. If possible, inspect the specific watch in person or compare its complete measurements with a watch you already wear comfortably.
The 2010 description says the B7 came with two NATO-style straps. It does not establish their width. A retailer listing for one Combat B-series bracelet variant names automatic B7 models in its fit list, but the listing is variant-specific and shows the bracelet as sold out. Confirm the exact B7 reference and bracelet variant before purchasing; do not assume every Combat bracelet fits. Check the retailer’s Combat B PVD bracelet listing.

Likewise, do not order a replacement strap based on an assumed 22 mm width: that figure belongs to the B71 page, and the available B7 evidence does not confirm it. Measure the B7’s lug gap or obtain reliable documentation for the exact reference before buying a band.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is a used Combat B7 safe to wear in water?
Its current water resistance cannot be inferred from the model’s age, appearance or a seller’s unverified specification. A marketplace-style listing assigns the B7 a 30 m rating, but that claim is weak and inconsistent with other Combat-series descriptions, so it is not a dependable confirmed rating. The available evidence does not establish the original B7 rating either.
LÜM-TEC’s 2018 user manual warns that crown seals and gaskets wear over time and should be inspected and replaced as needed when a watch is opened for service, including for a battery change. For a used B7, have a qualified service provider perform a current pressure test before water use. Consult LÜM-TEC’s user manual.
What to check before buying one
The available information does not establish the B7’s original or current market price, production count, present availability or exact service and parts support. Assess the individual watch and the seller’s documentation rather than relying on broad claims about the model.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Verify the exact watch. Ask for clear photographs of the dial, case, caseback and movement documentation. Confirm that the claimed reference and configuration match the watch being offered.
- Inspect condition and service history. Check the case, crystal, crown and seals for wear or damage, and ask whether the watch has been serviced and whether records are available.
- Require a pressure test for water use. A historical rating or seller statement is not proof that an older watch still seals. Ask for a recent test result from a qualified provider if water exposure matters to you.
- Confirm accessory fit before paying. Check strap width on the watch itself and verify that any bracelet listing specifically covers the automatic B7 and the exact variant you own.
- Check transaction terms and support. Confirm current availability, return terms and who can service the watch; these details depend on the seller and must be verified at purchase time.
Is the LÜM-TEC Combat B7 worth buying?
The B7 may suit someone seeking a distinctive legacy pilot-style automatic with a carbon-fiber dial, provided the particular example is well documented and priced in light of its condition. The evidence is not complete enough to recommend it on the strength of an exact caliber, water-resistance rating or confirmed strap size. Treat it as a watch to verify individually: documentation, condition, service history and fit matter more than specifications borrowed from a later Combat model.
