Its GMT uses a 24-hour hand and matching bezel to show a second time zone; the “Decompression” name does not mean it calculates dive decompression. Here are the specifications, practical trade-offs and strap details to check before buying.

How the GMT display works
Mido describes the GMT as a second-time-zone display: an additional hand makes one full rotation every 24 hours, and the bezel is graduated over 24 hours. Read that hand against the bezel to track a second time zone while the ordinary hour and minute hands show local time. This is a conventional GMT-style arrangement, not an independently adjustable world-time display of multiple cities. Mido lists a date function as well.
The product name’s “Worldtimer” label should not be taken to mean the watch automatically displays every world time zone. Mido’s description of this reference explains a second time zone through the 24-hour hand and bezel.

What the size and water-resistance figures mean in practice
Case dimensions
At 40.5 mm across, the case is not an oversized 44–45 mm watch, but the diameter alone cannot predict fit: wrist shape, lug-to-lug length and strap curvature also matter, and the cited product specification does not state lug-to-lug length. The listed average thickness is 13.4 mm, a consideration if you wear close-fitting shirt cuffs.
Water resistance
Mido rates the watch up to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft) and specifies a screw-down crown. That rating is the manufacturer’s stated specification; it is not an independent test result here, and it does not make this watch a dive computer. The available product description establishes watch functions, not decompression calculations, dive-planning capability or a replacement for diving instruments.

Automatic movement and the 80-hour reserve
Mido states a power reserve of up to 80 hours. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s maximum specification, not a guarantee that every watch will run for exactly that long under all conditions. If the watch is stopped, it will need to be wound and set again; the listed reserve provides useful leeway between wear periods, but does not remove the need to keep the watch running or reset the time and date as needed. Mido’s 2023 European catalogue identifies Caliber 80 for this edition.
Strap, package and the blue alternative
Mido lists a 21 mm lug width and the black rubber strap reference M603018678. Its US product page marks the black reference as a special edition with one additional strap included. Check the seller’s exact package contents before purchase rather than assuming that every listing includes the same extra strap.

Price and availability
Mido’s US listing showed a price of $1,490 and “currently out of stock” when crawled about three weeks before October 8, 2026. Both the price and stock status may have changed; check Mido’s live listing or a seller’s current product page before deciding. A retailer search result for this exact reference is not, by itself, proof of live inventory or authorized-seller status.

Who should consider this reference?
- Consider it if you want a black-dial Ocean Star with a dedicated 24-hour GMT hand, a 40.5 mm case and a long manufacturer-stated reserve.
- Check carefully if you need a thinner watch, want an independently verified performance result, or are buying an alternate strap: thickness, testing and exact accessory compatibility matter to those decisions.
- Look elsewhere if you need actual dive-computer or decompression-planning functions; the cited product specifications do not establish those capabilities.
For direct specifications and current product status, see Mido’s US page for the black M026.829.17.051.00. Regional strap options and the blue variant are listed on Mido France’s product page; the model’s special-edition status and Caliber 80 identification appear in Mido’s 2023 European catalogue.
