The MING 37.09 Bluefin pairs a manufacturer-rated 600 m water resistance with a 38 mm case and a distinctive timing system: instead of turning an external bezel, its crown at 4 o’clock rotates a luminous sapphire dial inside the watch. MING’s current archive lists the Bluefin as sold out, with deliveries complete and no further production planned.
How does the MING 37.09 Bluefin’s internal rotating dial work?
The elapsed-time scale sits on a deep-blue metallized sapphire dial filled with Super-LumiNova X1. A sealed crown at 4 o’clock operates a unidirectional 60-click mechanism that turns the dial internally; MING says sprung bearings secure the mechanism. This replaces the familiar external rotating dive bezel with a timer scale protected beneath the crystal.
MING says the crown neither pulls out nor screws down and can be operated underwater. Those are the manufacturer’s design and operating claims, not independently verified test findings. The hour indices are applied to the underside of the top crystal, while the dial markings and hands use different mixtures of Super-LumiNova X1. MING’s product archive and its May 2024 launch release describe the construction.
How big is the MING Bluefin?
Horologer MING’s current official specification gives the Bluefin a 38 mm diameter, 12.8 mm thickness and 44.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement. The thickness includes the externally domed sapphire crystal. A 38 mm diameter is compact for a watch with this stated depth rating, but the measurements alone cannot establish how it will wear on a particular wrist.

What does 600 m water resistance mean here?
The production Bluefin is rated by MING to 600 m. Separately, the manufacturer says prototypes reached a 900 m crush depth after 24 hours of saturation, and that it conservatively rated the watch at 600 m. The 900 m figure is a reported prototype result—not the operating-depth rating for the delivered watch. The cited product and launch materials do not include an independent pressure-test report.
What movement does it use?
The Bluefin is powered by a Sellita for MING SW300.M1 automatic movement, with approximately 50 hours of power reserve, hacking seconds and automatic winding. MING specifies a skeletonised rotor and bridges in a matte anthracite finish; the movement is visible through the rear sapphire crystal. These are manufacturer-published specifications in the official product archive.
