The Monchard Étape is a small rectangular quartz dress watch distinguished by stepped case sides, compact proportions and a choice of strap or bracelet. Monchard currently lists a 24.9 mm-wide, 6.7 mm-thick case, sapphire crystal, 5 ATM water resistance and a Ronda 762 movement. Its collection page displays prices of 3,395 kr for strap versions and 3,895 kr for bracelet versions; check the live listing for current stock and purchase terms.
Design and proportions
The Étape takes its visual cue from classic rectangular watches, with stepped sides along the case giving the watch its Art Deco character. Time+Tide described it as a dressy, unisex-sized model and reported that Monchard intended to evoke the style without making a direct copy. The name, co-founder Jonathan Belvér explained, nods to both the watch’s elegance and its case shape.
Belvér described the intended audience as women seeking a medium-size, classically styled watch and men comfortable wearing a smaller timepiece. That is the brand’s design intent, rather than a measurement-based guarantee of fit for every wrist.

Monchard’s product listing publishes the following specifications. The water-resistance figure is the manufacturer’s rating; it is not an independently tested result.

The current product page specifies the Ronda 762. At launch, Time+Tide reported that supply could determine whether an Étape used a Ronda 1032 or Ronda 762; that launch-era note should not be mistaken for the present listing.
Strap and bracelet options
Monchard’s collection page lists two configuration types: a strap version and a bracelet version. The displayed prices are 3,395 kr and 3,895 kr respectively. They are Swedish-krona prices shown by Monchard, not guaranteed final delivered costs for buyers in every country. Taxes, shipping, currency conversion and availability may affect the purchase.

The Étape has an 18 mm lug width, and Monchard’s accessory listing identifies 18 mm straps as compatible with Étape variants. Before ordering an 18 mm replacement watch strap, confirm that the particular strap and finish suit the exact Étape configuration.
