It is a 33-piece collaboration announced in 2021, not an edition whose original subscription offer is still open. Its appeal is the quiet contrast between a restrained monochrome face and a technically ambitious movement; its practical case rests on a versatile bracelet-and-rubber-strap package.
What the Monochrome White is
Monochrome Watches and Czapek & Cie made the Antarctique Monochrome White as the second Monochrome Montre de Souscription edition. The collaboration takes Czapek’s time-only integrated-bracelet sports-watch design and adds a date display at six. In the launch description, the dial is grained silvery white, giving the watch texture without introducing a contrasting color.
The collaboration was limited to 33 pieces. Its subscription period ran from 15 to 30 December 2021, with deliveries planned to start in February 2022 and the series expected to be delivered by the end of March. Those dates and terms describe the original release, not current availability.
Design and wearability
A restrained dial with useful contrast
The dial’s silvery-white grain is the defining visual choice: it gives a monochrome surface some texture while keeping the overall effect understated. Rhodium-plated steel hour markers and steel sword hands carry luminescent material. The date sits at six, preserving the dial’s symmetry better than a conventional three-o’clock window would.

That restraint has a trade-off. The look depends on subtle texture and polished or metallic details rather than strong color contrast. Whether it reads as discreet or too quiet is a matter of taste; the configuration is clearly aimed at someone who prefers a low-key luxury sports watch to a highly conspicuous one.
Case and bracelet
The 2021 launch report gives a brushed and polished stainless-steel case measuring 40.5mm in diameter and 10.6mm thick, with 120m water resistance. The integrated steel bracelet has a folding clasp and micro-adjustment system. Easy-release strap changing is part of the design, and the launch package included black and white rubber straps, each with a triple-folding clasp, as well as the required easy-release tool.

- Durable Stainless Steel Build – Crafted with a solid stainless steel case and hardened mineral crystal, this watch is built to last. Water-resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM), it’s ready for swim sessions and unexpected splashes.
- Comfortable & Secure Fit – Equipped with a custom 5-link stainless steel jewelry-style bracelet and an adjustable sliding buckle for a snug, secure fit that blends elegance with practicality.
- Precision Japanese Movement – Powered by reliable Miyota Japanese quartz 3-hand movement, with applied indices and custom-molded hands for clean, easy time-telling.
- Versatile Size & Fit – Features a 16mm tapered band with spring bar connection and a stainless steel locking clasp, making it a go-to accessory for any wrist or occasion.
These details make the package more adaptable than a bracelet-only watch: the steel bracelet supplies the formal integrated look, while the two rubber options shift the styling toward casual wear. The launch report does not establish how much wrist-size adjustment the clasp provides or how the watch fits different wrist shapes, so those points should be checked in person where possible.
Movement and specifications
The launch report specifies Czapek’s in-house automatic SXH5 calibre, fitted with a 100% recycled 950-platinum micro-rotor and offering a 60-hour power reserve. The watch displays hours, minutes, central seconds and the date. A platinum micro-rotor is an unusually considered detail for a watch with an everyday-sporting brief: it is part of the movement architecture rather than a dial-side embellishment.

The figures in this table are the collaboration’s launch specifications, not a current official product-page confirmation. Czapek’s official specification document for the related Antarctique Ice White lists the same 40.5mm diameter, 10.6mm height, 120m water resistance, SXH5 movement and 60-hour reserve, but it describes a different collection model and does not independently verify every Monochrome White detail: Czapek Antarctique Ice White specifications.

Anyone considering a pre-owned example should assess the specific listing rather than infer value from the original price. Confirm the watch’s condition, provenance, seller, included bracelet and rubber straps, warranty status, and whether the easy-release tool is present. For a limited edition, documentation linking the example to the 33-piece run is also worth requesting. No current marketplace listing or Amazon availability has been verified.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to interpret the specification discrepancy
A 2024 video listing from The 1916 Company describes a Monochrome White example with a silver dial and black rubber strap, and gives a 40.5mm case, 11.3mm thickness and 44.5mm lug-to-lug measurement. Those figures do not match the launch report’s 10.6mm thickness, and the listing describes one configuration rather than the original bracelet-and-two-rubber-strap package. Without checking the video itself, it is not possible to determine whether the difference reflects a particular configuration, a measurement convention or an error. Treat the launch figures as launch-report specifications and verify measurements against the actual watch before relying on them.

Verdict
The Monochrome White is most compelling as a carefully specified, deliberately discreet take on an integrated-bracelet sports watch. Its strongest distinguishing combination is the grained pale dial, date at six, SXH5 with platinum micro-rotor, and included bracelet plus two rubber straps. The 33-piece limit and expired subscription make it a search-for-a-specific-example proposition rather than a current retail choice. Buyers should judge its present value from a verified, live listing—not from its 2021 launch price.
Czapek CEO Xavier de Roquemaurel described the goal as a watch that “exudes a feeling of preciousness, but that could also be worn and admired every day.” Monochrome founder Frank Geelen characterized the project in terms of “real, discreet luxury.” Those statements align with the watch’s central proposition: luxury expressed through finishing and movement detail rather than an overtly bold dial.
