The Montblanc Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Geosphères Vasco da Gama, reference 111675, combines a one-minute tourbillon with a dual-hemisphere world-time display. Its central hands show local time, a separate display at six o’clock shows home time, and two rotating 24-hour discs frame hand-painted globes. The model was reported as an 18-piece limited edition when it launched in 2015.
What is the Montblanc Vasco da Gama tourbillon?
Reference 111675 is a Villeret-line watch introduced in Montblanc’s 2015 SIHH-era collection. Its manually wound manufacture calibre MB M68.40 pairs a one-minute tourbillon with a cylindrical hairspring, an unusual movement feature around which the watch’s elaborate display is arranged. How does the dual-hemisphere world-time display work?
The central hands indicate local time. At six o’clock, a separate indication displays home time. Two fixed, hand-painted globes show the Northern and Southern hemispheres; rotating 24-hour discs around them indicate time zones and day or night. Together, these elements provide local time, home time, and a broad world-time overview on one dial.
The 24-zone layout is not an exact civil-time readout for every location: places with offsets from GMT that are not whole hours are not represented precisely. Quill & Pad discusses the display and its limitations in its review.

How Montblanc described the project
In a 2015 interview with BURO. Malaysia, Montblanc CEO Jérôme Lambert described the maison’s aim: “At the maison, we want to single ourselves out through technical performance, to share our passion for fine watchmaking,” he says. The statement is Lambert’s description of Montblanc’s ambitions, rather than an independent assessment of the watch.
