What is new about the silver-dial TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox?
The silver-dial watch is the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph reference CBS2216.BA0041. Its silver sunray-brushed dial has two black azuré subdials, creating the familiar “panda” contrast. A domed Glassbox sapphire crystal and curved flange frame the dial. TAG Heuer describes the contrasting layout as designed for legibility on its official product page.
The watch has a 39 mm stainless-steel case, TH20-00 automatic movement, date display, and chronograph functions. TAG Heuer lists an 80-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance for this reference. The BA0041 configuration comes on a steel bracelet.

TAG Heuer also lists CBS2216.BA0048, a silver-dial version fitted with a seven-row beads-of-rice steel bracelet. It is a distinct configuration from CBS2216.BA0041, so check the full reference rather than assuming every silver-dial Carrera has the same bracelet.

How does the rose-gold Carrera Skipper differ?
The Carrera Skipper CBS2241.FN8023 trades the steel panda look for an 18K 5N rose-gold case and a blue circular-brushed dial. Its blue fabric strap and colored regatta countdown reinforce its sailing focus. The reference uses the TH20-06 automatic movement, with date and chronograph functions; TAG Heuer lists an 80-hour power reserve and 100 m water resistance. These specifications are on TAG Heuer’s official Skipper product listing.
What the countdown is for
Unlike a standard chronograph presentation, the Skipper’s colored regatta counter is intended to evoke a sailing countdown. TAG Heuer says the three-color display nods to the deck of the Intrepid. The brand’s collection page presents this as part of the Carrera Skipper’s Glassbox design and sailing identity: Carrera Sailing Complication Skipper Collection.

TAG Heuer connects the Skipper’s inspiration to its yachting heritage and dates the original inspiration to 1968 in its brochure. Are these new TAG Heuer releases?
“New” needs a date and a specific reference. The 2026 coverage available for this story concerns an expansion of the wider Carrera Glassbox range with 41 mm models; it does not establish that CBS2216.BA0041 or CBS2241.FN8023 launched in 2026. TAG Heuer’s 2024 brochure already documents CBS2216.BA0041. The two references can be considered in the context of the current Glassbox and Skipper offerings, but the evidence does not support calling either one a new 2026 release.

Which one suits which buyer?
