The Lebois & Co Heritage Chronograph has a clear appeal: it brings mid-century dial details together with a hand-wound column-wheel movement in a comparatively compact 39 mm case. The current Linéaire models make the strongest case for that mix, but the design and published specifications—not independent wear or performance testing—are what I can assess here. My view: it is an intriguing, characterful chronograph for someone who actively wants to wind a mechanical watch, though the €3,300 list price and limited availability make it a considered purchase rather than an obvious value pick.
Which Heritage Chronograph is this?
“Heritage Chronograph” names a family, not one watch. Lebois & Co’s current Linéaire family comprises ref. 324.525 with a champagne-silver dial and ref. 324.526 with a blue dial. The assessment below focuses on the Linéaire, and price and batch information refers specifically to blue-dial ref. 324.526. The family also includes earlier Baton, Numeral, Sector, Pulse, and Script variants, so these details should not be applied to every Heritage Chronograph.
The company says its first CoLAB project went live in 2021 and led to the Heritage Chronograph, drawing inspiration from Lebois & Co’s 1930s and 1940s chronographs. It describes the project as involving enthusiast input on design and technical choices. What stands out about the Linéaire’s design?
A vintage reference without a literal reissue
Lebois & Co presents the Linéaire as a contemporary interpretation of a rare 1950s Lebois & Cie chronograph found by Berlin vintage-watch retailer Shuck the Oyster. Its identified design cues include a vertically brushed dial, applied gold-toned Arabic numerals, blued syringe hands, and the historical “LEBOIS & CIE” dial signature. The result sounds more distinctive than a generic two-register chronograph: the old-fashioned typography and hands give the watch its character, while the blue dial on ref. 324.526 makes that combination bolder than the champagne-silver ref. 324.525. The design will not be for everyone. Gold-toned numerals and blue hands lean into period styling rather than visual restraint, and the “LEBOIS & CIE” signature deliberately revives a historical name. I find that more compelling when the details feel coherent as a group; buyers who prefer a clean, contemporary dial may see the same elements as busy or overly nostalgic.
Two registers and an unusual timing scale
The layout places running seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3. Lebois & Co says the counter is divided into three-minute increments and explains that such markings were historically used to time long-distance telephone calls. Treat that as the maker’s historical explanation, which it connects to a 1951 Watchmakers of Switzerland account, rather than as a separately verified origin story.

The dial also carries a tachymeter calibrated to Base 1000. It adds another instrument-style detail, though whether it is useful depends on how a wearer reads and uses a tachymeter scale. The watch’s visual appeal does not depend on using every marking as a practical tool.
What do the published specifications mean in practice?

Size: promising dimensions, but fit remains personal
A 39 mm diameter and 47.35 mm lug-to-lug give a more useful starting point than diameter alone when comparing chronographs. Still, those numbers cannot establish how the watch will sit on a particular wrist. Case shape, strap, wrist profile, and personal preference all matter. If fit is decisive, try it on or compare the full dimensions with a watch you already find comfortable.
Hand-winding is a feature and a routine
The LC-450 is specified as a hand-wound movement. In exchange for a more direct interaction with the watch, the wearer has to wind it rather than rely on wrist movement to keep an automatic running. That can be part of the pleasure for someone who likes a deliberate daily ritual; it is an inconvenience for anyone who wants a chronograph they can leave unworn and pick up without resetting or winding.

The column wheel is a specific chronograph construction choice, but its presence alone does not prove that this watch’s pushers feel better, that it is more reliable, or that it outperforms another movement. Those are questions the listed specifications cannot settle.

For blue-dial ref. 324.526, Lebois & Co’s current product page lists a price of €3,300. At that level, the case for the watch rests on its particular combination of historical styling, the revived dial signature, and a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph—not on a demonstrated performance advantage or a researched comparison with competing watches.

My personal take is that the Linéaire is most persuasive for a buyer who values design identity and wants to engage with a hand-wound chronograph. It is less persuasive if the priority is an effortless daily watch, a proven record of long-term ownership, or a clear value comparison against alternatives. The available specifications cannot answer questions about accuracy, comfort, service experience, durability, or owner satisfaction, so I would not treat the product page as evidence on those points.
Availability is a moving target
At the time reflected by Lebois & Co’s current listing, the inaugural batch of ref. 324.526 was marked sold out, production had commenced, and first deliveries were expected from September 2026; the page offered registration of interest for the next batch. These are the manufacturer’s time-sensitive statements, not confirmed delivery guarantees or independently checked stock. Check the live product page for current price, ordering status, and timing before making a decision.
Who is it for?
- A good fit in principle: someone drawn to vintage-inspired details, a distinctive two-register dial, and the hands-on routine of winding a mechanical chronograph.
- Less suited in principle: someone who wants a low-maintenance quartz or automatic watch, a minimalist face, or water-use assurances beyond the maker’s stated rating.
- Before ordering: compare the dimensions with a watch that fits you, confirm the current batch and price, and decide whether hand-winding is something you will enjoy rather than tolerate.
Strap and variant considerations
The 20 mm lug width on ref. 324.526 makes alternate straps a plausible way to adjust the look, and Lebois & Co’s catalog lists leather and suede straps. Before buying any replacement, check not only width but also attachment design, strap length, and compatibility with the watch. If the blue Linéaire feels too bold, ref. 324.525’s champagne-silver dial is the directly comparable alternative in the current Linéaire introduction. Earlier Heritage Chronograph variants have different references and dial treatments; a June 2025 company presentation listed Baton, Numeral, Sector, Pulse, and Script versions, but that historical lineup does not establish current availability or price.
