Its compact published dimensions, slim revised case height and no-date Miyota movement give context to the design, but the watch’s defining feature is its geometric architecture—not a performance claim independently established by testing.
What makes the Namica Okami distinctive?
NAMICA positions the Okami as an urban sports watch that combines Japanese cultural and nature influences with retro-futurist styling. The square bezel slopes toward a custom widescreen dial, forming a shaped rehaut; the result is a layered, angular face rather than a conventional round-dial layout. NAMICA describes it as “Fully custom designed and crafted for an unmistakable retro futuristic look.” NAMICA’s model overview presents that as design intent, not independent evidence of durability or comfort.
Independent watch journalist Vincent Deschamps described the case as extremely geometric and sharp, and wrote, “The Okami is a watch that’s bold, angular, and tough.” His January 28, 2024 introduction at Fratello also notes that the architecture can make the watch look more imposing than its measurements imply. That visual presence is worth considering alongside the numbers if you prefer understated watches.
How big is the Okami?
NAMICA’s current overview gives the case dimensions as 39 by 40 mm, with a 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement and a revised 10 mm case height. The height was previously listed as 10.7 mm in 2024 coverage; the current page labels 10 mm as new. Older launch articles may therefore show the earlier figure.

These are manufacturer-published dimensions, not a substitute for trying the watch on. In particular, the 47 mm lug-to-lug span and angular case may affect how it wears more than the headline case width suggests.
What movement does the Namica Okami use?
The current model page specifies a Japan-made Miyota Premium Automatic Cal. 9039. It is a no-date movement that can be wound by hand and stopped for setting through hacking. NAMICA lists a 42+ hour power reserve, 24 jewels and a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour.
- Accuracy: NAMICA states a range of −10 to +30 seconds per day. This is the manufacturer’s specification, not an independent timing result for an individual Okami.
- Shock protection: The listed movement feature is the Parashock anti-shock system.
- Date: No date display.
The 9039’s no-date layout suits the Okami’s broad, graphic dial and avoids a date window interrupting its composition.

What are the case materials and water-resistance claims?
NAMICA lists Grade 2 titanium, sapphire crystal, Swiss Super-LumiNova and 100 m / 330 ft water resistance. The brand says its A.T. SHIELD hardening treatment can reach up to 1,200 HV on the Vickers scale; that figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent hardness test. The model overview also identifies black DLC on applicable finishes and describes an anti-reflective sapphire sandwich crystal.
Specifications can differ by listing and configuration. The Kurayami product page, for example, describes a flat sapphire crystal with underside anti-reflective coating, a fixed bezel, applied or printed indices, and a custom FKM rubber strap. NAMICA’s published 100 m rating is not an independent water-resistance test. Treat it as a stated specification and follow the brand’s guidance for actual water use.
Which Okami variants are listed?
NAMICA’s overview currently surfaces the Neo Tokyo Kanji variant, while its separate Kurayami page provides variant-specific listing details. Earlier coverage discussed Neo Tokyo, Turbo Blue and Kurayami dial treatments, including differences in lume. Colors, finishes and included accessories should be checked on the current product page rather than inferred from older launch coverage.

When comparing a listing, focus on the details that can change the experience and the configuration:
- Dial color and the legibility of its lume treatment.
- Case finish, including A.T. SHIELD-treated titanium or black DLC where specified.
- Whether the listing includes a strap or titanium bracelet.
- Current stock status and the price shown for that specific variant.
Is the Namica Okami still available, and what did it cost?
At the time reflected by the checked official listings, the sampled Okami variants were marked sold out. The Kurayami page displayed a US$630 sale price while also showing sold-out status, so that figure is a displayed listing price, not a currently purchasable offer. Stock, price and shipping terms can change; check the official overview and Kurayami listing for current status before making plans to buy.
The Okami launched in February 2024, according to NAMICA’s brand history. Launch-period pricing is historical context only: Fratello reported Super Early Bird pricing of US$429 for 50 units, Early Bird pricing of US$449 for 100 units, a Kickstarter price of US$469 and planned full retail of US$630. Mainspring Watch Magazine separately reported an anticipated US$429 Kickstarter price in its 2024 review. None of those launch figures establishes a current offer.

What strap fits the Okami?
The published lug width is 22 mm, and the Kurayami listing specifies a custom FKM rubber strap. A 22 mm replacement is a reasonable starting point, but width alone does not ensure a precise fit: check the strap’s end shape and attachment style against the watch before ordering. NAMICA also lists a bracelet configuration that tapers from 22 mm at the lugs to 20 mm.
Is the Okami a good watch for you?
The Okami is most compelling if you want a distinctive, angular titanium watch rather than a conventional sports-watch silhouette. Its no-date automatic movement, sapphire crystal and stated 100 m water resistance make for a substantial specification set, while its bold case design will be the deciding factor for many buyers. The available evidence establishes manufacturer specifications and published editorial impressions; it does not establish independent material testing, water-resistance testing, measured timekeeping, or hands-on comfort across wrist sizes.
