The NOMOS Club Campus Starlight and Night Sky are four hand-wound mechanical watches introduced in 2025: each colorway comes in a 36 mm and a 38.5 mm case. Starlight has a yellow dial; Night Sky has a deep-blue dial. The choice is not only about color: the references differ by size, lug width and, depending on market, caseback configuration. One specification also needs checking with NOMOS before purchase: its current Starlight product page and its February 2025 model sheets disagree about the movement and power reserve.
What are the Starlight and Night Sky editions?
They are colorful additions to NOMOS Glashütte’s Club Campus line, announced in 2025. Both retain the collection’s mix of Roman and Arabic numerals and a contrasting orange seconds hand; NOMOS describes those as characteristic Club Campus details. The principal visual difference is the dial: Starlight is yellow, while Night Sky is deep blue. NOMOS’s Starlight product page also describes orange and purple accents.
The Japanese distributor’s May 2025 announcement lists four references. The size is reflected in the reference number, so compare the exact reference rather than shopping by colorway name alone.
| Edition | Reference | Dial | Case diameter | Height | Lug width |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starlight | 718 / 718.GB | Yellow | 36 mm | 8.2 mm | 18 mm |
| Night Sky | 719 | Deep blue | 36 mm | 8.2 mm | 18 mm |
| Starlight | 721 | Yellow | 38.5 mm | 8.5 mm | 20 mm |
| Night Sky | 722 | Deep blue | 38.5 mm | 8.5 mm | 20 mm |
Reference and size details are listed in J.O. Osawa & Co.’s May 16, 2025 Japanese announcement; the 36 mm Starlight dimensions are also on the current NOMOS product page. The February 2025 NOMOS sheets identify the 36 mm Night Sky and 38.5 mm Starlight references. Night Sky 719 fact sheet; Starlight 721 fact sheet.

Which size should you compare?
36 mm: 718 and 719
The 36 mm cases are 8.2 mm thick and take 18 mm straps. The Starlight 718.GB product page gives a lug-to-lug measurement of 44.3 mm. Case diameter alone does not describe how a watch wears, so that length and the strap width are useful comparisons when checking fit against a watch you already own.
38.5 mm: 721 and 722
The larger references measure 38.5 mm across, 8.5 mm thick and 20 mm at the lugs. The additional 2.5 mm of diameter is accompanied by a 2 mm wider strap fit. If you are replacing a strap or considering a bracelet, match it to the exact case size; 18 mm and 20 mm are not interchangeable.

What should you check beyond dial color?
- Caseback: NOMOS’s 718.GB page lists a screwed sapphire-crystal back. J.O. Osawa’s Japan overview describes sapphire backs as standard there and says steel backs are ordered from Germany. Confirm the caseback on the specific reference and market listing rather than assuming every configuration is identical.
- Water resistance: NOMOS states 10 atm for the 36 mm Starlight and describes it as suitable for swimming. That is not a claim that it is a dive watch. Check the specification for the exact reference you intend to buy.
- Lume: The current NOMOS Starlight page says its light-gray Super-LumiNova numerals and markers glow blue. The Japanese launch announcement describes Starlight lume as green, so the descriptions conflict. The available Night Sky material does not establish its current lume color; verify directly against its current product listing if this matters to you.
- Movement and reserve: Current NOMOS Starlight product-page content states DUW 4001 and up to 53 hours. The February 2025 NOMOS sheets for Starlight 721 and Night Sky 719, as well as the contemporary launch overview, state Alpha and up to 43 hours. These sources do not explain the discrepancy. Ask NOMOS or the seller to confirm the movement and reserve for the exact reference and production you are considering.
The current Starlight 718.GB page lists stainless steel, manual winding, domed sapphire glass and a screwed sapphire-crystal back. Those specifications should not automatically be applied to every reference or market configuration without checking its listing.
What did these watches cost at launch?
Published prices are regional and date-specific, not a universal current quote. J.O. Osawa & Co.’s Japan announcement of May 16, 2025 listed tax-included prices of ¥286,000 for either 36 mm edition and ¥308,000 for either 38.5 mm edition. Monochrome Watches’ February 20, 2025 launch coverage reported €1,300 for the 36 mm and €1,400 for the 38.5 mm with solid casebacks, with a €200 surcharge for a sapphire back. These are launch-era figures; current stock and pricing may differ by country, retailer and configuration.

How to choose between Starlight and Night Sky
Start with size and fit, then choose the dial. Pick between the 36 mm 718/719 pair and the 38.5 mm 721/722 pair based on case dimensions and strap width; within either pair, Starlight is yellow and Night Sky is deep blue. Before ordering, confirm the caseback option, exact water-resistance and movement specifications, and the price for your region. The movement and power-reserve figures in available NOMOS material are inconsistent, so they should be confirmed for the specific watch rather than inferred from the colorway.
