The 37 mm NOMOS Club Sport neomatik is a notably slim automatic sports watch, but “37 mm” does not tell the whole story: the official display-back reference 750 is 8.4 mm thick, while steel-back reference 747 is listed at 8.3 mm. Both share a 47.7 mm lug-to-lug span and a manufacturer-rated 20 atm water resistance. Polar blue versus petrol green is a matter of taste; the more practical choice may be whether you want a display back or a solid steel back.
What changes between the 37 mm references?
NOMOS lists the same 37.0 mm diameter and 47.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement for references 750 and 747, but their casebacks and published thicknesses differ. Check the reference rather than assuming every 37 mm Club Sport neomatik is identical.
| Reference | Caseback | Listed thickness | Other shared specifications |
|---|---|---|---|
| 750 | Sapphire display back | 8.4 mm | 37.0 mm diameter; 47.7 mm lug-to-lug; 20 atm water resistance; DUW 3001. NOMOS Glashütte product page |
| 747 | Stainless-steel back | 8.3 mm | 37.0 mm diameter; 47.7 mm lug-to-lug; 20 atm water resistance; DUW 3001. NOMOS Glashütte product page |
The differences shown are the manufacturer’s published specifications, not measurements taken for this article. Reference 750’s page describes a screwed stainless-steel case, 316L steel construction, a domed sapphire front crystal with inner anti-reflective coating, and an 18 mm Club Sport bracelet with quick-change spring bars. Its polar-blue dial is PVD-coated and sunburst-polished, with white Super-LumiNova on the numerals and indices. NOMOS Glashütte
How large does it wear—and what about those lugs?
The 47.7 mm lug-to-lug length is useful context alongside the 37 mm diameter, but it cannot predict fit on every wrist. Wrist shape, the width of the flat surface across the wrist, and how the lugs meet that surface all matter. The stated measurement is the same for references 750 and 747.

- Nomos Club Campus Neomatik Automatic Men's Watch 748
In a hands-on review published November 8, 2022, Fratello’s Daan de Groot said the 47.7 mm span worked on his 17 cm wrist when worn on the bracelet. He also noted that the lugs curve downward and described the bracelet as comfortable. That is one wearer’s experience, not a guarantee of fit for a different wrist. Fratello review by Daan de Groot
The slim case gives the watch a sleek profile rather than the taller, more substantial look some buyers expect from a sports watch. De Groot found it elegant and comfortable, but visually less rugged than thicker sports watches. Try it on if you can, especially if you are choosing it for a distinctly tool-watch presence rather than low-profile wear.

Petrol or Polar: which dial would you choose?
Reference 750 is the polar-blue version; petrol reference 745 is the green-dial variant. NOMOS’s reference 750 page describes a sunburst finish, and de Groot observed that the texture was visible without overwhelming the dial. He initially leaned toward petrol based on press images, found the colors closer in person, and still preferred green. That preference is personal rather than an objective difference in quality. Fratello review by Daan de Groot · NOMOS Glashütte petrol reference 745
- Choose polar if the blue sunburst finish is the color you want on your wrist; the official specification identifies it as PVD-coated and sunburst-polished.
- Choose petrol if you prefer the green variant. The reviewer’s account suggests that photographs may not settle the choice: he found the colors more similar in person than he expected.
Color, reflections, and how prominent you want the dial to feel are best judged in person when possible. The reviewer’s preference should not be mistaken for a measured comparison of brightness or legibility.

What is the DUW 3001?
DUW 3001 is NOMOS’s in-house automatic caliber. For reference 750, the current product page lists a 28.8 mm diameter, 3.2 mm height, 37 jewels, and a power reserve of up to 43 hours. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s stated reserve, not a guarantee that every watch will run for exactly that time in all conditions. NOMOS Glashütte product page
The manufacturer’s separate reference 750 data sheet, marked October 2022, lists 27 jewels rather than the 37 shown on the current product page. Because those sources conflict, the current product listing is used here for the present specification; the older figure should not be blended into it without noting the date. Does the thin case and bracelet suit sports-watch use?
NOMOS specifies 20 atm water resistance for both references and describes the model as suitable for diving. This is the manufacturer’s rating, not a water-resistance test performed for this article. De Groot noted the absence of a screw-down crown in his 2022 review; that observation is not established by the current official product pages cited here, so it should not be assumed from their specifications alone. NOMOS Glashütte reference 750 · NOMOS Glashütte reference 747 · Fratello review
The bracelet’s construction may influence whether the watch feels right day to day. De Groot found its polished center links less objectionable in wear than he had expected. He also reported that the clasp’s quick-release spring bar allowed tool-free micro-adjustment. Those are reviewer impressions, not findings from a new wear test.

- Nomos Club Campus Black Dial Black Leather Men's Watch 736
Reference 750’s bracelet is 18 mm wide at the watch and uses quick-change spring bars, which makes removal straightforward. That width alone does not prove that every 18 mm strap will fit cleanly: check the strap’s shape and end fit before buying. NOMOS Glashütte product page
Which version makes more sense?
- Pick reference 750 if you want the sapphire display back, polar dial, and the 18 mm Club Sport bracelet specified on its product page.
- Pick reference 747 if you prefer a steel back; NOMOS lists it at 8.3 mm rather than reference 750’s 8.4 mm.
- Choose by fit as well as diameter. The shared 47.7 mm lug-to-lug measurement is a more useful check than diameter alone, but individual wrist shape still determines how it sits.
- Choose by dial preference, not a claimed performance edge. The available evidence supports a visual comparison, not a measured winner between polar and petrol.
