What the DUW 6101 contributes
The DUW 6101 is an in-house automatic caliber built around the watch’s peripheral date display. NOMOS lists approximately 42 hours of reserve and 42 jewels for reference 1165. Its caliber page additionally describes a 3.6 mm movement height, stop-seconds mechanism, bidirectional winding rotor, Glashütte three-quarter plate, NOMOS swing system, a balance bridge secured on both sides, and adjustment in six positions. Those are manufacturer specifications for the caliber; they are not independent accuracy or performance test results.
The reference-specific product page is the appropriate source for this watch’s listed specifications. Caliber pages can describe family-level information and displayed values may differ from those on an individual product page, so the two should not be silently combined into a single definitive spec sheet.

How the peripheral date works
The date is arranged around the outer edge of the dial rather than in a conventional rectangular window. NOMOS says the date mechanism is integrated into the DUW 6101 and allows quick correction in both directions. The design keeps the date prominent while leaving the central dial free of a standard date aperture; the mechanism is part of the caliber architecture, not simply a decorative date scale. These are manufacturer descriptions, not claims of owner-tested setting convenience.
How large does it wear?
For fit, the useful measurements are the 40.5 mm diameter and 47.5 mm lug-to-lug, rather than the “41” in the name. At 9.1 mm high, the case is relatively slim on paper, but the listed dimensions alone cannot predict how it will sit on a particular wrist.

A 6.5-inch wrist is a reasonable reason to check the fit carefully, not enough information to declare the watch either too large or suitable. Wrist width and shape, how the lugs meet the wrist, strap choice, and personal preference all matter alongside circumference. Where possible, try the watch on or compare its lug span with a watch you already find comfortable; product imagery cannot establish an individual fit outcome.
Water resistance: treat 5 atm as splash-proof
NOMOS lists 5 atm and calls reference 1165 splash-proof. That wording does not support presenting it as a swimming or diving watch. Follow NOMOS’s guidance for the specific watch rather than interpreting the pressure figure as a broader use recommendation.

Strap compatibility and price
The product page lists a 20 mm band attachment, which is the key measurement when looking for a replacement strap. Check the strap’s width and attachment style against the watch before ordering.
