The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Annual Calendar reference 231.10.43.22.01.002 pairs a black dial and stainless-steel bracelet with Omega’s calibre 8601. Its annual calendar tracks months of 30 and 31 days, but needs a manual correction each March 1. The 43 mm case, 14.55 mm thickness and approximate 179 g weight are substantial specifications to consider before buying; they do not, by themselves, predict how the watch will fit a particular wrist.
Which Aqua Terra Annual Calendar is this?
This review covers the stainless-steel, black-dial version on a steel bracelet, reference 231.10.43.22.01.002. Omega lists it as an automatic Seamaster Aqua Terra 150M Annual Calendar. Other Aqua Terra Annual Calendar references use different dials, cases or straps, so specifications here should not be assumed to apply to every version. Omega’s product information is on its Japan product page.
How does the annual calendar work?
The calendar mechanism advances the date while recognizing months with 30 and 31 days. Because it does not independently account for February’s changing length, the wearer must correct it once a year, on March 1. That makes it an annual calendar, not a perpetual calendar. Omega describes the date change as an instantaneous jump.
Compared with a simple date watch, the annual calendar handles most month lengths without routine manual correction. A perpetual calendar is more complex and is designed to account for February as well. This reference occupies the middle ground: useful calendar automation without the perpetual-calendar complication, and with a predictable annual adjustment.

Case size, thickness and weight
| Specification | Omega’s published figure |
|---|---|
| Case diameter | 43 mm |
| Thickness | 14.55 mm |
| Lug-to-lug | 51.40 mm |
| Lug width | 21 mm |
| Approximate total weight | 179 g |
These dimensions make the watch a substantial proposition, especially in thickness, lug-to-lug span and total mass. The figures are useful for comparing it with a watch you already own, but they cannot establish comfort on a particular wrist. Try the exact watch on if possible, with the bracelet adjusted as you would wear it.
Omega lists the black-dial bracelet reference with a 21 mm lug width. The family also includes leather-strap versions; before ordering an alternate strap, confirm compatibility with the exact reference, end fittings and clasp rather than relying on lug width alone.

Calibre 8601 and published performance
Omega specifies its automatic calibre 8601, a 55-hour power reserve and a chronometer designation for this watch. The movement has a Co-Axial escapement, a silicon hairspring on a free-sprung balance, two barrels in parallel and bidirectional winding. Omega also describes rhodium-plated arabesque Geneva-wave finishing.
The chronometer label is a manufacturer designation for the model; it is not a current independent timing test of any particular pre-owned example. An individual watch’s timekeeping depends on its condition and should be assessed as such.
Water resistance and practical ownership
Omega publishes water resistance of 15 bar, equivalent to 150 m or 500 ft, for reference 231.10.43.22.01.002. That is the manufacturer’s specification, not a guarantee that an older, damaged or untested watch remains water-resistant. For a used example, do not infer present-day water safety from the dial or model specification alone; ask about a recent pressure test if water exposure matters to you.

The reference is specific enough to verify against Omega’s model information, but a listing should still be checked as an individual watch. The published specifications do not establish its present condition, service history or market value.

- Reference and configuration: Confirm the case reference and that the watch is the black-dial steel-bracelet version, rather than a related Aqua Terra Annual Calendar variant.
- Calendar operation: Ask the seller to demonstrate the date and annual-calendar functions, including the March correction procedure. If operation is uncertain, have a qualified watchmaker inspect it rather than forcing a setting.
- Condition and service records: Review service documentation and ask what work was performed and when. No service interval or service cost is established by the cited product specification.
- Completeness and seller safeguards: Check whether box and papers are included, what return or authenticity protections apply, and whether the seller’s photos and description match the watch being sold.
- Bracelet or strap fit: Verify bracelet condition and sizing, or confirm that any alternate strap and end fittings are correct for this reference.
- Price context: Compare dated asking or transaction prices for the same reference and condition. Historical review pricing and a model-level market overview do not establish a current value.
