The Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is a family of watches, not one fixed specification set. It may suit someone looking for a dive-oriented watch, but the exact movement, materials, water-resistance rating and price depend on the reference and market. This is a fact-based look at the collection and selected models—not a hands-on dive test.
What the Diver 300M is—and why the reference matters
OMEGA says the Seamaster Diver 300M first appeared in 1993. Since then, the collection has included different generations and configurations, so a specification attached to one watch should not automatically be applied to another.
For example, OMEGA’s 21 November 2024 announcement described four initial 42 mm models inspired by the 007 Edition, with mesh bracelets or rubber straps, domed sapphire crystals and steel configurations featuring black aluminium or grade 5 titanium bezel details. Those models use Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8806.
OMEGA’s 17 July 2025 orange release also specifies calibre 8806. It describes two 42 mm stainless-steel options: one on a brushed mesh bracelet and one on an integrated orange rubber strap. Both have a black aluminium dial, white Super-LumiNova and a helium escape valve at 10 o’clock. OMEGA says METAS certifies the Master Chronometer tests; its statement that orange improves underwater visibility and safety is the brand’s rationale, not an independently established safety result.

How the watch is equipped for underwater use
Water resistance: confirm the exact reference
The collection name and the “300M” label are not a substitute for a matching product specification. The exact water-resistance rating for the standard reference discussed below was not verified in the sources available for this article. Do not rely on a collection name alone when deciding whether a specific watch is suitable for a dive: check the official specification and manual for its full reference, and follow the manufacturer’s guidance.
Helium escape valve: a specialist use
OMEGA’s user manual describes the helium valve as a decompression valve that allows helium to escape when a watch is used for professional work in a decompression chamber, such as long-term underwater work or crude-oil exploration. That is the stated purpose; it should not be treated as a general-purpose safety feature or a requirement for ordinary recreational diving.

Care and water-resistance checks
OMEGA’s manual gives general care guidance: “We recommend that you have the water resistance of your watch tested once a year by an authorised OMEGA service centre.” It also advises rinsing the watch in fresh water after swimming. The manual consulted is for a different OMEGA reference, so check the manual for the specific Diver 300M before following model-specific operating instructions.
A concrete standard model: reference 210.30.42.20.01.001
OMEGA Japan’s product page lists reference 210.30.42.20.01.001 as a 42 mm stainless-steel model with a black ceramic dial and calibre 8800. That reference-level listing is a useful reminder not to carry the calibre 8806 specification from the 2024 and 2025 releases across the entire collection.

The same OMEGA Japan page displayed ¥990,000 when accessed in 2026. This is a Japanese-market listed price observed in 2026, not a universal price recommendation. A US retailer, Carat & Co., listed the same reference at $6,700 USD when its page was accessed in 2026; that is a retailer offer, not an OMEGA global price. Prices, stock and terms can change.
Special editions are not the baseline model
On 2 October 2026, OMEGA announced six James Bond and Spectre Seamaster Diver 300M watches—three for each theme—and said they would be available from 5 October. OMEGA describes these as sharing a 42 mm case and calibre 8806. Details of the platinum-gold versions include ceramic bezels, platinum diving scales and 18K white-gold dials with themed treatments; presentation sets include an additional NATO strap and strap-changing tool. These are special editions and should not be treated as the standard specification or price of the collection. See OMEGA’s 2 October 2026 announcement for the release details.

What to check before buying
- Exact reference: Match the full reference number on the listing to the watch and its official product page.
- Specifications: Confirm the movement, dimensions, materials and water-resistance rating against the product sheet for that reference.
- Configuration: Check whether the offer is for a bracelet or strap version and what is included in the package.
- Price and seller: Verify the current local price, stock, condition, warranty and seller. The Japan and US figures above were observed in 2026 and are not guaranteed current.
- Used or unworn watches: Ask about service history and arrange an appropriate water-resistance check before relying on the watch underwater.
No hands-on dive test or independent performance measurement is established here, so this is not a claim about tested underwater performance. For a dive, use the exact model’s official rating and instructions rather than assuming that every Diver 300M reference has identical specifications.
