What OMEGA introduced in 2017
OMEGA’s parent company, Swatch Group, dated the new Speedmaster 38 mm collection announcement to 17 February 2017, the year marking 60 years since the first Speedmaster’s launch. OMEGA said the collection was designed with “simplicity, size and colour in mind.” The announcement presents the Cappuccino as one watch within a complete collection, rather than as the sole 38 mm model.
The announcement is useful for identifying the collection’s design direction and the Cappuccino’s details, but it does not provide a complete list of models or reference numbers. Therefore, an exhaustive roster of all watches released in 2017 cannot be established from that source.
The 2017 Speedmaster 38 Cappuccino
The documented Cappuccino pairs a stainless-steel case with 18K Sedna gold accents. Its taupe-brown leather strap complements the brown oval subdials on a bi-colour dial. An oval date window sits at 6 o’clock, while the hands and indexes are 18K Sedna gold.

A documented 2017 reference and launch-market prices
Reference 324.23.38.50.02.001 is a concrete example associated with the 2017 collection. Period retail sources identify it as a 38 mm steel-and-gold model, but their prices refer to different markets and should not be treated as one worldwide launch price.

The Japanese and French figures are secondary retail claims for separate markets. They are not directly comparable without accounting for tax treatment and exchange rates, and neither establishes the price of every 2017 Speedmaster 38.
Can you identify every 2017 model?
Not from the dated official announcement available here. It calls the Cappuccino one piece in the collection but does not list all configurations or references. A specialist-retailer search result has described fourteen new models, but that count is not confirmed by the official announcement, so it should not be treated as a verified total.

For a specific watch, use its full reference number rather than relying on “Speedmaster 38” alone. That helps distinguish it from other Speedmaster sizes, the Moonwatch Professional, and later 38 mm designs. The official announcement also does not supply a reference number for the Cappuccino, so the documented reference above should not automatically be assigned to that named model.

OMEGA’s 25 August 2026 announcement describes seven new references and a changed design: rounded subdials replace the earlier oval shape, alongside a cleaner dial, thicker bezel and five-link bracelets inspired by the Moonwatch. Those details belong to the 2026 generation, not the 2017 Cappuccino. The change in subdial shape is a practical visual clue when distinguishing the two generations.
