It became available in the U.S. and Canada on July 8, 2025, priced at $299.99 in the U.S. and CA$399.99 in Canada. Its appeal is straightforward: a smaller, lighter Wear OS smartwatch for Android users, with a meaningful compromise in battery life and health hardware compared with the larger OnePlus Watch 3.
Choose the 43mm model for comfort, sleep tracking and a more compact fit. Choose the larger Watch 3 if longer battery life, a larger display or OnePlus’s complete health-sensor package matters more.

It weighs about 37.8g without its band and is intended for wrists measuring roughly 130mm to 210mm. The smaller case is the main reason to buy this version. It should be easier to wear overnight and less visually oversized than the larger Watch 3, although 43mm is still not a particularly discreet watch. The available specifications do not identify a cellular version, so this is best treated as a phone-connected Android smartwatch rather than a standalone LTE device.
Battery life: 60 hours on paper, about two days in active use
OnePlus rates the 43mm model for up to 60 hours in Smart Mode. It also claims up to 36 hours in its Heavy Use scenario, up to seven days in Power Saver Mode, up to 24 hours of normal use after a 10-minute charge, and a full charge in approximately one hour.
The 60-hour figure is a controlled estimate rather than a guarantee of two and a half days for every owner. OnePlus’s test scenario disables the always-on display, uses an official watch face, leaves Animation Booster disabled, and applies default health settings. It includes 14.2 hours of Bluetooth phone connection per day, 6.5 hours of sleep monitoring, 30 minutes of outdoor running, 20 minutes of app use and 180 received messages.

The Heavy Use estimate assumes more demanding conditions, including an always-on display, a third-party watch face, navigation, music playback and more screen interaction. GPS workouts, frequent notifications, navigation, music and a bright display will reduce endurance further.
Independent hands-on coverage reported roughly two days with workouts, sleep tracking and regular notifications, although results vary by settings and usage. In practical terms, lighter users may approach a third day, while active users should plan around charging every couple of days rather than relying on the maximum claim. Android Authority’s hands-on report provides that real-world context.
Power Saver Mode is not simply ordinary Wear OS use with a different battery icon. It relies more heavily on the lower-power RTOS environment and can limit the smartwatch experience. It is useful for extending runtime, but its seven-day claim should not be treated as equivalent to seven days of full Wear OS functionality.

- The Google Pixel Watch 3 is designed for performance, with advanced fitness from Fitbit[1,2]; the 45mm screen is twice as bright and 40% larger than before, making it easier to see your stats and info[1]
- Maximize your performance with advanced running features; build custom run workouts and get real-time guidance and advanced form tracking[3]
- Enhance your run routine with Fitbit Premium; Google AI uses your goals, past runs, and readiness to power personalized run recommendations[3]
- Know what your body is ready for each day with readiness; it uses sleep, resting heart rate, and heart rate variability to show if you’re ready to take on a workout or prioritize recovery[3]
- Cardio load measures how hard your heart works so you can see how hard you’ve pushed; compare trends to see if you’re under- or over-training[3]
Charging requirements
The watch uses OnePlus’s exclusive charging dock. The advertised VOOC charging performance requires a 3C-certified power adapter rated at 5V⎓2A or higher. A 10-minute charge can provide up to 24 hours of normal use under OnePlus’s stated conditions, but the result will vary with display settings, workouts and connected features.

Health and fitness features
The 43mm model still offers a substantial wellness package. It includes heart-rate monitoring, blood-oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, sleep-quality reporting, stress and fatigue-related insights, HRV and resting-heart-rate trends, cycle tracking, guided breathing exercises, fall detection, GPS-based activity tracking and heart-rate alerts.
OnePlus also promotes its 360 Mind and Body features, daily wellness tracking and the Wellness Puppy watch face. Sports capabilities include running metrics such as ground-contact time and stride balance, plus dedicated tennis, skiing, cycling and swimming data. Swimming metrics can include pace, laps, stroke type and SWOLF, while cycling can provide heart-rate-zone information.
These features make the 43mm model more than a basic notification watch. However, OnePlus describes its readings as general wellness and fitness information, not medical measurements. Blood-oxygen readings are for reference, and low-blood-oxygen warnings are disabled by default according to the product disclosures. The watch should not be used to diagnose, treat or prevent a medical condition.
What the 43mm model does not have
The most important compromise is hardware, not merely size. Compared with the larger OnePlus Watch 3, the 43mm version omits:
- A temperature sensor.
- Vascular Health functionality.
- The 60-second Health Check-In feature, which depends on the omitted hardware.
This means a software update cannot simply restore those functions. The 43mm watch retains heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep, GPS and workout tracking, but it does not offer the larger model’s complete health-sensing package. The availability of some health features also varies by market; for example, the larger model’s Health Check-In has had regional limitations.

OnePlus Watch 3 43mm versus the larger Watch 3

| Display | 1.32-inch AMOLED | Larger display |
| Smart Mode battery claim | Up to 60 hours | Up to five days |
| Heavy Use claim | Up to 36 hours | Up to three days |
| Power Saver claim | Up to seven days | Up to 16 days |
| Temperature sensor | No | Yes |
| Vascular Health | No | Yes |
| 60-second Health Check-In | No | Available in supported markets |
| Best suited to | Smaller wrists and comfort | Maximum endurance and the fullest health suite |
The larger Watch 3 launched earlier, on February 18, 2025, in the U.S. and Canada. Some coverage uses different nominal size labels for the larger case, including 46mm or 47mm. Those references should not be interpreted as separate OnePlus Watch 3 generations without checking the exact product.
The larger model’s U.S. price was later reduced to $349.99 in an April 2025 OnePlus community update, although current sale pricing and stock are volatile. At that price difference, buyers who can comfortably wear the larger case receive materially better battery endurance and additional health hardware.
Wear OS apps and Android compatibility
Wear OS 5 provides access to Google Play apps and smartwatch features such as notifications, messaging, Google Wallet where supported, music controls, YouTube Music controls, customizable widgets and complications, and voice calling through a connected phone. The watch also supports camera control and short-video controls for TikTok and YouTube Shorts in supported configurations.

Compatibility is narrower than some buyers may expect:
- Android 9.0 or newer is required.
- The phone must have Google Mobile Services version 23.45.23 or newer.
- The OHealth app is required from Google Play.
- iPhones are not supported.
- Android Go devices are not supported.
- Camera control requires a compatible OnePlus or OPPO phone running OxygenOS 15 or ColorOS 15 or newer.
- Google Wallet features vary by country.
It is therefore a poor choice for iPhone owners and should not be described as a universal Wear OS watch. It is a stronger fit for OnePlus and OPPO users, although Android users from other brands can also use it if they meet the software requirements.

The 43mm Watch 3 is rated 5ATM and IP68 and includes GPS, a barometer and multiple outdoor and aquatic workout modes. Those ratings support everyday water exposure and manufacturer-specified swimming use, but they do not make the watch suitable for every water activity.

OnePlus specifically warns against using it in seawater or at the beach. Water and dust resistance can also diminish as the device ages. Rinse and care practices should follow OnePlus’s guidance rather than treating the ratings as a guarantee against corrosion or damage.
Availability and buying advice
The confirmed U.S. launch MSRP was $299.99, while the Canadian launch price was CA$399.99. Those are launch prices from July 2025, not guaranteed current retail prices. Retail stock is especially important: an inspected Best Buy listing for the Silver Steel model stated that it was no longer available new, so that listing should not be treated as proof of present availability.
For current purchases, verify both the seller and the exact model before paying. A discount on the 43mm model may make its compromises worthwhile, but buyers should not assume that an old launch listing reflects current stock, warranty coverage or pricing.
Who should buy the OnePlus Watch 3 43mm?
Buy the 43mm model if the larger Watch 3 looks too bulky, sleep comfort matters, your wrist is relatively small, and roughly two days of practical battery life is acceptable. It is also a sensible option if your priorities are Wear OS apps, notifications, GPS, workouts, sleep tracking and Google Wallet rather than temperature or vascular-health measurements.
Buy the larger Watch 3 if battery life is the priority, you use GPS workouts or navigation heavily, you want a larger screen, or you specifically want temperature sensing, Vascular Health and the 60-second Health Check-In where supported.
Consider another platform if you use an iPhone, require cellular connectivity, prioritize advanced training analytics over Wear OS apps, need a substantially smaller watch, or require medically validated measurements. Garmin, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Google Pixel Watch models may suit different priorities, but their exact compatibility, health features, prices and availability vary by model and country.
Verdict
The OnePlus Watch 3 43mm is the compact Android option many smaller-wrist users wanted, but it is not simply the larger Watch 3 in a smaller case. Its shorter battery rating and missing temperature and vascular-health hardware are genuine trade-offs. For comfort and everyday Wear OS features, it is the better choice; for endurance and the fullest OnePlus health suite, the larger Watch 3 remains the stronger buy.
