Movement and power reserve
Oris: a stated five-day reserve
Oris lists a 120-hour power reserve for Calibre 400. That is the clearest specification-led advantage if you may leave the watch unworn over a weekend or rotate among several watches: the stated reserve is five days. Oris describes the movement as its next-generation, in-house automatic; that is the manufacturer’s characterization, not an independent assessment.
TAG Heuer: COSC certification
TAG Heuer specifies its automatic Calibre TH31-00 as COSC-certified. Certification is a meaningful distinction for buyers who prioritize a chronometer-certified movement. The cited TAG listing and brochure do not state a power-reserve figure, so this comparison cannot establish how its reserve stacks up against Oris’s 120 hours.
#1 Best Overall
- Approximate power reserve of 5 Days
- Stainless steel screw-in security crown
- Case diameter: 41.5 millimeters
- Dial window material type: antireflective-sapphire
- Bezel material type: Ceramic bezel ring with 5 minute scale.
Size, water resistance and configuration
The Oris case measures 43.5 mm across; the TAG measures 42 mm. That makes the TAG 1.5 mm smaller in nominal diameter, but diameter alone cannot establish which watch will fit or feel better on a particular wrist. The cited sources do not provide a measured wrist-fit comparison.
Oris states 30 bar water resistance, while TAG Heuer’s brochure specifies 300 m for WBP5110.BA0013. These are manufacturer specifications, not evidence from comparative real-world diving tests. Neither figure establishes how either watch performs underwater in a specific use case.
Rank #2
- Oris Aquis Automatic Blue Dial Men's Watch 01 400 7763 4135-07 4 24 74EB
Both cited configurations come on steel bracelets. The TAG brochure also lists a black rubber option, while Oris’s listing exposes compatible strap and bracelet choices. Because options and fit depend on the exact variant, check the reference and compatibility details before buying a separate strap.
Price and warranty
At the cited US listings, the Oris is $4,300 and the TAG is $4,550—a $250 difference, with the TAG higher. These are official listed prices for the references above, not transaction prices or a universal comparison across all sizes, dial variants, retailers or markets.

- Approximate power reserve of 5 Days

Warranty terms differ in structure: TAG Heuer’s US product page states a five-year warranty. Oris presents a two-year base warranty and says free MyOris registration extends the Calibre 400 warranty to 10 years; verify current eligibility and terms before purchase. Oris also lists a 10-year recommended service interval for Calibre 400. That recommendation is not a prediction of an individual watch’s service needs or a comparison of service costs.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Oris if its 43.5 mm size suits you and you value the stated 120-hour reserve, the registration-dependent warranty extension and the listed 10-year recommended service interval.
- Choose the TAG Heuer if you prefer its 42 mm case, want the stated COSC certification, or place greater weight on its five-year warranty and the brochure’s black rubber option.
- Compare them in person if fit is decisive. The nominal diameter difference does not settle wrist comfort, and the available specifications do not provide a measured fit comparison.
- Check the exact local offer before ordering. Prices and warranty conditions may vary by market, retailer and configuration.
Neither set of manufacturer specifications establishes superior accuracy in use, comfort, finishing, long-term reliability or actual diving performance. The better choice depends on which documented specifications and configuration best match your priorities.
