The Oris ProPilot X Calibre 115 Year of the Snake Limited Edition is an 88-piece worldwide edition of Oris’s hand-wound, 10-day-reserve ProPilot X. It adds a green open-worked dial with cyan accents, a gold snake-tongue-shaped power-reserve indicator and a special caseback engraving to the Calibre 115 platform.
What is the Year of the Snake Limited Edition?
Oris made the ProPilot X Year of the Snake Limited Edition to mark Chinese New Year. The Japanese announcement was dated December 18, 2024, and independent launch coverage followed on January 6, 2025. The reference is 01 115 7759 7117-Set. Oris states that production is limited to 88 pieces worldwide. Oris product listing · Oris Japan announcement · Fratello launch coverage
What makes its design different?
The open-worked green dial is paired with cyan details that Oris associates with the wood zodiac element. At 3 o’clock, the power-reserve display uses a gold indicator shaped like a snake’s tongue. The titanium caseback carries a special Year of the Snake engraving. These are the edition’s principal visual departures from a standard Calibre 115; the underlying watch remains a ProPilot X with the same hand-wound movement.
How does the Calibre 115 work?
Calibre 115 is a manually wound movement with a stated power reserve of 240 hours, or 10 days. Its reserve display is non-linear, so the indicator does not move at a constant rate across the full reserve. Oris lists a 21,600-vibrations-per-hour frequency (3 Hz), stop-seconds, central hour and minute hands, and subsidiary seconds at 7:30. The listed movement diameter is 34 mm.

The long reserve is useful if you rotate watches or do not want to wind a watch every morning. It is not an automatic movement: the wearer winds it by hand. The reserve display is a visual estimate of remaining running time rather than a linear day-by-day countdown.

At 44 mm, the case has a substantial diameter. Fratello’s separately reported 50 mm lug-to-lug measurement may be especially useful when considering wrist fit, but it is a secondary-source measurement, not a figure in the cited Oris listing. The 22 mm interhorn width is relevant if you are considering alternate straps; fit and material quality should be confirmed for any third-party option.

How it compares with the regular Calibre 115
The core comparison is not a different movement or reserve: both this edition and the standard Calibre 115 are built around the hand-wound Calibre 115 and its stated 240-hour reserve. The Year of the Snake version’s case for consideration is its limited run and its distinctive dial treatment and engraving.
- Edition: This version is limited to 88 pieces worldwide; the standard Calibre 115 is not identified as this 88-piece edition.
- Design: The green, cyan and gold treatment and Year of the Snake caseback engraving distinguish this reference.
- Price and stock: Compare current local listings rather than assuming the CHF regional snapshot applies in your country.
- Fit: Both share the 44 mm case specification shown for this edition; check the standard model’s current listing for its measurements and confirm fit on wrist where possible.
- Warranty: Confirm local warranty and MyOris extension terms for the exact reference and market.
Who is it for?
This is a focused choice for someone drawn to the Calibre 115’s long hand-wound reserve and open-worked presentation, who also wants the snake-year colorway and a small production run. Its 44 mm titanium case and independently reported 50 mm lug-to-lug measurement are important fit considerations. If the special colors, engraving and limited edition do not matter to you, the standard Calibre 115 offers the same central movement proposition without those edition-specific details.
