The figure is traceable to a 2021 GQ India report about an emerald-set platinum Nautilus 5711 associated with Hardik Pandya. GQ described its value as above ₹5 crore; that is a historical secondary estimate for a different watch, not a manufacturer price or current valuation for the ruby-and-diamond model. A price claim for a rare luxury watch needs to identify the exact reference and distinguish an official retail price from a reported estimate or a resale valuation. The ₹5 crore report cannot establish the price of the 7118/1452G-001.

- Treat a media estimate as a report about that particular watch and date, not as a current price for another reference.
How Patek Philippe describes its gem setting
Patek Philippe says the choice of setting method depends on the model and stone layout. Its gemsetting page discusses grain setting, invisible setting and the Flamme® technique; those descriptions should not be assumed to apply to every gem-set watch. For the 7118/1452G-001 specifically, the manufacturer identifies snow setting.
