The Pebble Time 2 is a revived Pebble smartwatch built around a large color e-paper display, four physical buttons and PebbleOS. Core Devices lists it for $225 and currently shows it in stock, shipping within 48 hours. Its standout promise is long battery life, but treat 30 days as an estimate: the company later reported a median of around 21 days as software evolved.
What was revealed—and when?
Core Devices founder Eric Migicovsky announced the Pebble Time 2 alongside the Pebble 2 Duo on March 18, 2025. The pitch was a straightforward smartwatch with an always-on e-paper screen, tactile controls, long battery life and an open software ecosystem. Migicovsky called it “my dream watch” in the announcement.
The finalized design was shown later: MacRumors reported on August 14, 2025, that Migicovsky had revealed it earlier that week. That design reveal followed, rather than replaced, the March announcement.
Core Devices’ March 2025 announcement and MacRumors’ August 2025 report document those milestones.

How long does its battery last in practice?
Thirty days was Core Devices’ original estimated battery life, not a guarantee for every owner or usage pattern. Later company updates give more grounded—but still company-reported—figures: in March 2026, Core Devices said the then-current software averaged 14 days; in July 2026, it reported a median of around 21 days for Pebble Time 2.

- Bezel protection design,The bezel-style protective case surrounds the edge of the watch face, effectively reducing scratches, wear, and minor impacts to the watch surface during daily use, travel, and outdoor activities
- Slim and lightweight protective case,The slim and lightweight design provides extra protection while ensuring comfortable wear, suitable for work, commuting, and daily use
- Easy operation of watch functions,The design retains access to buttons and the display screen, allowing users to easily operate the smartwatch without removing the protective case

Those figures differ by date and measurement basis, so they should not be treated as a controlled independent comparison or a promise that every watch will reach either figure. Core Devices says battery use varies with backlight use, animated watch faces and health tracking. Its July 14, 2026 update is the latest of these reported battery figures.
What does the 30 m / 3 ATM rating allow?
Core Devices says each watch is tested to 30 m / 3 ATM and allows brief exposure such as rain, washing, bathing or swimming. The rating is not permission to dive or leave the watch submerged for long periods. The manufacturer also says to avoid hot or high-pressure water. Follow those limits rather than interpreting the depth marking as a guarantee for every water activity.

Should you buy the Pebble Time 2?
It is most compelling if you want an always-on, glanceable display, physical buttons and a watch that prioritizes PebbleOS and long intervals between charges over GPS-based sports tracking. The standard strap fitting and established Pebble app and watch-face ecosystem add flexibility, though compatibility is not the same as a frozen, finished software platform.
The project remains actively evolving. In its July 2026 update, Core Devices listed software issues reported by some owners, including inaccurate step or sleep metrics, intermittent accelerometer failures and touchscreen problems. That same update said more than 23,000 Time 2 watches had been built and over 80% of preorders fulfilled as of July 2026; those are production and preorder figures from that date, not a statement of current stock.
