Before buying a Pequignet Royale Paris Chrono, make sure the listing is for the Calibre Initial Chronograph—not another Royale Paris model—then check the dial, fit, strap configuration, current price and warranty paperwork. Pequignet lists the Chrono at 39.5 mm across, 47 mm lug to lug and 12.7 mm thick, with a 20 mm lug width and 5 ATM water resistance.
Confirm it is the Chrono, not another Royale Paris
Pequignet’s Royale Paris range includes watches with different movements. The Chrono is identified by its Calibre Initial Chronograph; other Royale Paris models use Calibre Royal or a manual Calibre Royal movement. Check the exact model name, chronograph dial layout and movement on both the product listing and the paperwork. The official Royale collection page shows the wider family, while the Chrono product page identifies the chronograph model. Pequignet describes it as the first chronograph from its manufacture.

Assess fit using the full case dimensions
Pequignet specifies a 39.5 mm case diameter, 47 mm lug-to-lug length, 12.7 mm thickness and 20 mm lug width for the Chrono. Diameter alone does not determine how a watch wears: lug-to-lug length indicates how far it spans across the wrist, while thickness affects how it sits beneath a cuff. If possible, try it on; otherwise compare all four measurements with a watch you already know fits comfortably.
Check strap compatibility before buying accessories
The stated 20 mm lug width is a useful starting point when shopping for a strap, but width alone does not establish that every 20 mm strap will fit. Attachment style, end shape and the exact strap or bracelet configuration may matter. Confirm compatibility with the seller or Pequignet for the specific watch before ordering a replacement or alternate strap.

Interpret 5 ATM water resistance cautiously
The official specification is 5 ATM. That figure alone does not establish that a particular activity, such as swimming, is suitable; consult Pequignet’s guidance for the intended use. For a pre-owned watch, the published specification also does not establish its current water resistance. If water exposure matters, have the individual watch’s condition assessed rather than relying on its original rating.

Pequignet states that its watches carry a three- or five-year warranty from purchase, with five years for models equipped with a Pequignet movement, including the Royale collection. The stated coverage concerns manufacturing defects under normal use. Pequignet also says a returned watch must include a dated, signed warranty certificate stamped by an authorized retailer. Before paying, confirm that the seller is authorized and that the certificate will be completed correctly; check the terms applicable in your region.

What the published specifications do—and do not—tell you
The cited product pages establish Pequignet’s published dimensions, water-resistance rating, listed configurations, prices and warranty language. They do not establish independent accuracy results, a water-resistance test for a particular watch, service costs, resale performance or compatibility with a specific third-party strap. Treat the figures as manufacturer specifications and listing details, not independent test results.

Pre-purchase checklist
- Confirm the exact listing says Royale Paris Chrono and identifies Calibre Initial Chronograph.
- Choose the counter color and dial finish, then verify the exact reference.
- Check the current price, tax, stock, delivery estimate and bracelet or strap configuration for your location.
- Compare 39.5 mm diameter, 47 mm lug to lug and 12.7 mm thickness with a watch that fits you.
- Confirm strap attachment compatibility; 20 mm width by itself is not a fit guarantee.
- Ask whether the seller is authorized and ensure the dated, signed, stamped warranty certificate will accompany the watch.
- If buying pre-owned and water resistance matters, arrange an assessment of that specific watch.
