What did collectors bring to the 2024 Dutch Speedmaster GTG? Robert-Jan Broer’s photo report shows a collection-centered gathering at the Coach House at Amerongen Castle, where 51 guests from 10 countries displayed and discussed Speedmasters ranging from vintage commemoratives to modern precious-metal models.
A collector gathering at Amerongen Castle
Organized by Speedmaster enthusiast @watchstick_81, the event took place at the Coach House, part of Amerongen Castle in the center of the Netherlands. Broer reported that 51 guests from 10 countries attended. The Netherlands supplied the largest contingent.
| Country | Attendees, as reported in 2024 |
|---|---|
| Netherlands | 28 |
| Germany | 6 |
| United Kingdom | 5 |
| Belgium | 3 |
| United States | 3 |
| Switzerland | 2 |
| Colombia | 1 |
| Greece | 1 |
| Poland | 1 |
| Denmark | 1 |
These are attendance figures in Broer’s November 19, 2024 Fratello report, not an independent count. He says the previous edition, in 2023, drew approximately 20 enthusiasts. His report also put the Speedy Tuesday Facebook group at 4,200 members at that time; that is a dated membership figure, not a current total.
Collection sharing, not a packed program
Broer describes the GTG as a chance for guests to bring watches and other Speedmaster-related pieces, put them on display, and spend hours talking through them. In his words, “This is a GTG where people share their collections and discuss the watches in-depth for hours.”

#1 Best Overall
- Model 310.30.42.50.01.002
| Format | What Broer says it emphasizes |
|---|---|
| Dutch Speedmaster GTG | Informal collection sharing and in-depth discussion of attendees’ watches and related items. |
| Speedy Tuesday events | Presentations and Q&As; Broer says they often include an introduction to new Speedmaster models. |
Broer says the organizer curated the guest list to make collection sharing feel trusted. “It all revolved around trust, and it worked out well,” he wrote. That account describes the intended atmosphere; it is not a claim that every watch at the gathering was independently authenticated.
