Praesidus lists 10 ATM water resistance and a 49.5 mm lug-to-lug length, but those are manufacturer specifications—not independent test results. The watch is inspired by WWII-era A-11 designs; it is not a period-issued artifact.
What this Praesidus A-11 is—and is not
Praesidus describes this configuration as officially licensed by the U.S. Army and assembled in the United States. Its product page presents the monochrome dial and sword-shaped hands as design choices inspired by the A-11 layout. That makes it a contemporary automatic watch with historical styling, not an original WWII-issued watch. Praesidus product page

Praesidus says the original A-11 was commissioned by the U.S. War Department in 1941, and its Army program page frames the current line as inspired by WWII field watches. Those are the manufacturer’s historical descriptions; the available material does not independently establish that this particular model reproduces every original specification. An independent account of an earlier Praesidus A-11 Type 44 discusses historical context, but it does not verify the history or performance of this current configuration. How the size and movement affect the choice
The 42 mm case diameter gives a useful first point of comparison, while the 49.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement indicates the distance across the watch from one set of lugs to the other. Wrist fit depends on more than those numbers, including wrist shape and how the strap holds the case. No hands-on fit assessment for this exact configuration is established here; compare both measurements with a watch you already find comfortable if fit is a deciding factor.
The listed TMI NH35 is an automatic movement, so it runs from the motion of the wearer rather than a battery. The product information does not establish measured timekeeping accuracy, power reserve in this watch, or service experience. Buyers seeking verified performance figures should not treat the movement name alone as evidence of this particular watch’s accuracy.

Water resistance and practical limits
Praesidus states 330 feet / 10 ATM water resistance and specifies a screw-down crown. No independent test of water resistance for this exact model was found, so the rating should be understood as the manufacturer’s claim rather than a verified result. The published information does not explain testing conditions or establish how the watch performs after wear, impact, or servicing. Follow the manufacturer’s current care guidance and confirm its water-use recommendations before relying on the watch in water.
Customization, price and availability
Praesidus describes interchangeable rank keepers and optional caseback engraving as customization choices. Confirm which options are available for this configuration and whether they affect delivery before placing an order. Check the current product listing

At the time the product page was checked, it showed a $335 sale price alongside a “Sold out” label and pre-order/delivery language. Because those signals conflict and price and stock can change, the page does not establish that the watch is currently available at that price. Verify the listing or ask the seller directly before making a purchase decision.

This model is worth considering if you want a modern automatic watch with military-inspired A-11 styling, a steel case, sapphire crystal and canvas strap, and you are comfortable evaluating it on Praesidus’s published specifications. It is a less suitable choice if your decision depends on independent accuracy, comfort, durability or water-resistance results, or on proof that the watch is a period-accurate reproduction. Those claims are not established for this exact configuration.
