The Richard Mille RM 21-02 is a manual-winding tourbillon watch limited to 50 pieces, according to the manufacturer. It is not established as a 2026 launch: Richard Mille published material about the model in 2022 and presented a Caribbean Blue Quartz TPT version in 2024.
What is the Richard Mille RM 21-02 Tourbillon Aerodyne?
Richard Mille’s official name for the watch is the RM 21-02 Manual Winding Tourbillon Aerodyne. Its stated functions are hours, minutes, a crown-operated function selector, a power-reserve indicator and a torque indicator. The brand lists the model as a limited edition of 50 pieces.
The RM 21-02 belongs to the Aerodyne line. Richard Mille’s historical page for the earlier RM 022 describes a separate manual-winding tourbillon with dual-time-zone functionality; those features should not be attributed to the RM 21-02. Richard Mille RM 022 historical-model page.
How does the function selector work?
A push-button in the centre of the crown selects one of three modes: winding, neutral or hand-setting. A hand at 4 o’clock indicates the selected mode. This lets the wearer choose the crown’s function rather than relying on a conventional pull-out crown position.

Power-reserve indicator
The indicator shows the remaining energy in the mainspring before the watch needs winding. Richard Mille specifies an approximate reserve of 70 hours, with a stated tolerance of ±10%.
Torque indicator
The torque indicator displays mainspring tension. Richard Mille says that below 5.3 N.mm the spring is too slack, while above 6.5 N.mm excessive tension can adversely affect operation or endanger the mechanism. These thresholds are the manufacturer’s guidance, not independent test findings.

The RM 21-02 is powered by the manual-winding RM21-02 tourbillon calibre. Richard Mille publishes these specifications:

The brand also describes a free-sprung balance with variable inertia, a fast-rotating barrel and a wheel-based time-setting system. It says the barrel completes one revolution in six hours rather than 7.5 hours. These are manufacturer descriptions; the stated comparison is not an independent performance test.

What is the RM 21-02 made of?
The baseplate is described by Richard Mille as honeycombed orthorhombic HAYNES 214 with a Carbon TPT core. The brand says this structure is designed for stiffness, low thermal expansion and resistance to torsion. The bridges are grade 5 titanium.
The tripartite case combines Quartz TPT, Carbon TPT and titanium, and is stated to be water resistant to 50 metres. The material-performance claims and water-resistance figure are manufacturer specifications.

Is the RM 21-02 a new release?
The model should not be described as a 2026 launch on the evidence of its release history. Richard Mille’s official video about the RM 21-02 was published on November 30, 2022, and calls it a limited edition of 50 pieces. On July 10, 2024, the brand published an official video for a Caribbean Blue Quartz TPT presentation, also described as a 50-piece edition. Those dates establish that the model family predates 2026, but do not establish a separate 2026 colorway or launch.

How many RM 21-02 watches were made?
Richard Mille states that the RM 21-02 is limited to 50 pieces. Its 2024 Caribbean Blue Quartz TPT video also describes a 50-piece edition. The official materials cited here do not establish current retail price, stock status or a verified marketplace seller.
