The Rolex Deepsea 136668LB pairs a 44 mm, pressure-resistant Deepsea case with 18 ct yellow gold, a blue Cerachrom bezel and a blue lacquer dial. Rolex specifies waterproofness to 3,900 m (12,800 ft), but that is a manufacturer rating—not a practical diving-depth recommendation. What is the Rolex Deepsea 136668LB?
Rolex identifies the watch as Deepsea reference 136668LB, model M136668LB-0001. Introduced in 2024, it was the first Deepsea presented in 18 ct yellow gold, according to Rolex’s product page and its 2024 launch announcement.
The distinctive combination is a yellow-gold case and Oyster bracelet, a blue ceramic bezel insert, and a blue lacquer dial. The word “DEEPSEA” appears in yellow on the dial. The design sets a highly technical dive-watch architecture against a conspicuously precious-metal finish.
How deep can the Rolex Deepsea go?
Rolex specifies the 44 mm Oyster case as waterproof to 3,900 m (12,800 ft). That figure describes the manufacturer’s rating; it should not be read as a recommendation that an owner dive to that depth. Rolex attributes the case’s pressure resistance to its Ringlock architecture, helium escape valve and screw-down Triplock crown. These are elements of Rolex’s design, not independent validation of the rating.

What the Ringlock system does
Rolex describes Ringlock as the case architecture that supports the Deepsea’s specified waterproofness. In this yellow-gold version, the high-performance compression ring is blue ceramic. Rolex says the ceramic’s resistance to compression and deformation contributes to waterproofness. The helium escape valve and Triplock crown are also part of the pressure-resistant case design.
Bezel and dial details
The unidirectional bezel has a 60-minute scale for timing underwater. According to Rolex, the blue Cerachrom insert has molded, recessed graduations and numerals coated with gold by PVD. The blue dial is lacquered, and its “DEEPSEA” name is rendered in powdered yellow.

Case size, movement and bracelet
Rolex lists a 44 mm case diameter. The model brochure specifies a 5.5 mm domed sapphire crystal; that measurement is the crystal thickness, not the total thickness of the watch. Diameter and crystal thickness alone do not establish how the watch will fit on a particular wrist.

Rolex describes the Glidelock system as providing up to about 20 mm of bracelet adjustment across 10 notches. That adjustment is useful when accommodating changes in fit, including over a diving suit, but it does not tell you whether the overall 44 mm watch will suit your wrist.

What calibre 3235 and the precision claim mean
Calibre 3235 is a self-winding mechanical movement. Rolex gives it an approximately 70-hour power reserve, meaning a fully wound watch can continue running for about that long when left unworn, subject to the conditions of use.
Rolex says a finished Superlative Chronometer meets a precision criterion of −2/+2 seconds per day after official movement certification and Rolex testing. This is Rolex’s stated standard for the finished watch, not a timing result from a test of this particular example.
