The 31 is 3 mm wider by nominal case diameter, but Rolex publishes no wrist-size cutoff for either watch. Try both on if you can, and choose the scale and comfort you prefer.
What is the difference between the Rolex OP 28 and 31?
The models are adjacent sizes in the Oyster Perpetual collection. Rolex identifies the 28 mm as reference 276200 and the 31 mm as reference 277200. Both use Oystersteel, automatic caliber 2232, and have a stated water resistance of 100 m / 330 ft. The diameter is the clearest fixed distinction: the 31 has a nominal case diameter 3 mm greater than the 28.

| Case material | Oystersteel | Oystersteel |
| Movement | Automatic caliber 2232 | Automatic caliber 2232 |

| Additional published specifications | Not stated in the cited 28 mm brochure for these details | Approximately 55-hour power reserve; -2/+2 seconds per day after casing; Oyster bracelet with Easylink 5 mm extension |
Rolex’s published specifications do not present the two sizes as a performance tradeoff: the movement and water-resistance rating are the same. The 31 mm page lists its additional specifications above; those details should not be assumed to indicate a difference in the 28 unless Rolex publishes them for that reference. Which size Oyster Perpetual should I get?
Start with the look and feel you want rather than a wrist-circumference formula. The 28 mm is the smaller nominal case; the 31 mm offers a wider case span. Neither measurement alone determines how a watch will look on you, and Rolex does not publish a wrist-size threshold for choosing between them.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Consider the 28 if you prefer the smaller of these two case diameters.
- Consider the 31 if you prefer the larger nominal case span.
- Try both on, ideally in the dial configurations you are considering, to compare their visual scale and comfort on your wrist.
Rolex’s official pages do not provide lug-to-lug measurements or standardized comparative wrist photographs that would support a more exact fit rule. Treat diameter as a useful comparison, not a guarantee of fit. Rolex Oyster Perpetual collection.
Will a 31 mm Rolex look too big on my wrist?
There is no official wrist-size rule that can answer this for everyone. A 31 mm case is 3 mm wider by nominal diameter than the 28 mm, but the number alone cannot establish whether it will look too large or feel comfortable on a particular wrist. If possible, try both references in person and judge the scale and comfort you prefer.

What dial differences are documented?
Dial availability depends on the reference, configuration, market, and date. Rolex announced a lavender matte lacquer dial for the 28 in its 2025 Oyster Perpetual update. Official Rolex 31 mm pages show examples including a multicoloured Jubilee motif, pistachio, and silver. These are documented examples, not a promise that every color is currently available everywhere or shared between sizes.
