What is the Seiko 5 Sports MOONEYES Limited Edition?
It is an official Seiko 5 Sports collaboration with MOONEYES, a brand known for car and motorcycle customization parts. The watch adapts that motorsport-customization identity into a Seiko 5 Sports design, rather than changing the collection’s basic automatic-watch format. What makes its design distinctive?

These figures are from Seiko’s official U.S. product information and the Seiko Boutique UK specification sheet. The 46 mm lug-to-lug length is useful context alongside the 42.5 mm diameter: it describes the span across the wrist, while the 13.4 mm thickness indicates how far the case rises from it. Fit still depends on wrist shape and personal preference.
How do SBSA287 and SRPL39 differ?
They are regional references for the same MOONEYES collaboration, not evidence of two different designs. Seiko USA lists the watch as SBSA287; the U.K. specification sheet uses SRPL39K1. Listings may shorten the latter to SRPL39. Check the reference on the product documentation and case details, especially when buying across regions.

The 4R36 supplies familiar practical features—automatic operation with manual winding, day/date, stop-seconds, and an approximately 41-hour reserve—without making the watch’s appeal depend on an unusual complication.

Consider the case dimensions and color before treating limited production as a reason to buy.
