The TMI NH34 is better suited to tracking a second time zone from home because its independently set 24-hour hand can be moved to show that zone. The 9075 is also 0.40 mm thinner by published movement height, but neither movement can be declared more accurate from the available specifications alone.
How the GMT hands work
The main difference is not the number of time zones either watch can display; it is which hand you can adjust independently. Both movements have a central 24-hour GMT hand, but the independently adjustable hand serves a different purpose on each.

TMI NH34: caller-style GMT
On the NH34, the 24-hour GMT hand is independently set. Leave the regular hour hand showing local time and move the GMT hand to track another zone. This is useful when you are at home and want a persistent reference to a second location. TMI identifies the NH34 as an automatic GMT movement with a central GMT hand and stop-seconds in its catalogue.
Miyota 9075: traveler-style GMT
The 9075 lets you adjust the local hour hand independently. When you arrive in another time zone, you can move that hand to the new local hour while leaving the 24-hour reference hand aligned with home time. Miyota describes the 9075 as a “True GMT” movement and specifies individual hour-hand adjustment on its product page.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
In practical terms, choose the NH34 if you mostly want to monitor another zone from one home base; choose the 9075 if you expect to change local time while traveling. “Caller” and “traveler” describe these setting behaviors, not a difference in the basic purpose of a GMT display.
Published specifications compared
| Specification | TMI NH34 | Miyota 9075 | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| GMT adjustment | Independently set 24-hour hand; caller-style | Independently adjustable local hour hand; traveler-style | Choose based on whether you track another zone from home or change local time on trips. |
| Movement height | 5.32 mm (TMI catalogue) | 4.92 mm (Miyota product data) | The Miyota is 0.40 mm thinner at movement level. Finished case thickness also depends on the case, crystal, dial, and other components. |
| Beat rate | 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz; TMI catalogue) | 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz; Miyota product data PDF) | The 9075 has the faster published beat rate; that alone does not establish better real-world timekeeping. |
| Jewels | 24 (TMI catalogue) | 24 (Miyota product data PDF) | Equal published count. |
| Power reserve | Not stated in the cited TMI NH34 catalogue. Seiko’s 4R34 manual states approximately 41 hours for that related caliber, not as an independently verified NH34 specification (Seiko 4R34 manual). | Approximately 42 hours (Miyota product data PDF) | The available figures are close, but the NH34 figure is not established by the cited NH34 catalogue. |
| Published accuracy | No NH34 daily-rate figure stated in the cited TMI catalogue. The related Seiko 4R34 manual gives +45 to −35 seconds per day on wrist under its stated 5–35°C conditions; this is a 4R34 specification, not an NH34 test result (Seiko 4R34 manual). | −10 to +30 seconds per day (Miyota product page) | These figures come from different source contexts and are not a like-for-like test. |
| Stop-seconds | Listed by TMI (TMI catalogue) | Listed by Miyota (Miyota product page) | Both list stop-seconds. |
| Winding | TMI describes the NH34 as automatic; the cited catalogue does not explicitly establish hand-winding. | Automatic and hand-winding listed (Miyota product page) | The available official NH34 catalogue evidence does not support a direct hand-winding comparison. |
Does the 9075 keep better time?
The published figures do not establish an accuracy winner. Miyota lists the 9075 at −10 to +30 seconds per day. TMI’s cited NH34 catalogue does not provide a daily-rate figure; Seiko’s related 4R34 manual lists +45 to −35 seconds per day on wrist under stated conditions of 5–35°C. That is a different caliber’s manual specification, not a controlled comparison with the 9075.

These are manufacturer specifications, not results from a head-to-head test of watches under matching conditions. The rate of an individual finished watch can vary; the figures here do not show which movement will keep better time in a particular watch.

For a watch purchase
- Prioritize the GMT setting behavior that fits your routine: the NH34 for an independently set second-zone hand, or the 9075 for independently changing local time.
- If case thinness matters, the 9075’s published movement height is lower. Do not treat that difference as the finished watch’s case-thickness difference.
- Do not infer durability, service life, or price advantage from the specifications in this comparison. No controlled reliability study or current movement price comparison is established here.
For a watch build or replacement
A movement’s dimensions alone do not establish that it will fit a case or dial. Check the case, stem and crown position, dial, hand heights, and date-window alignment before buying or assembling parts. A tutorial covering GMT hand fitting for both movements is available at this watchmaking video; its existence does not replace checking the specifications of the parts in your build.
