Seiko Presage Classic Series: SPB463, SPB465, SPB467, SPB469 & SPB471

Seiko’s Presage Classic Series debuted in 2024 with five watches, but the official reference list includes SPB467, not SPB567. The series pairs silk-inspired dials and Japanese textile colors with two movement and dial layouts: three date-display models and two open-heart models.

Is the reference SPB567 or SPB467?

Seiko’s March 7, 2024 launch announcement and its current Classic Series collection page list the original references as SPB463, SPB465, SPB467, SPB469 and SPB471. Neither official page lists SPB567 among these five models. The title’s SPB567 therefore appears to be a reference-number error; the verified model is SPB467.

Seiko said the watches would be available from June 2024 at select retail partners nationwide. That is the launch announcement’s availability statement, not a guarantee of present stock. Seiko’s 2024 launch announcement and the current official collection page provide the reference list.

What is the difference between the five models?

The most useful distinction is the dial layout. SPB463, SPB465 and SPB467 have a conventional date display and use Caliber 6R55. SPB469 and SPB471 have an open-heart, or semi-skeleton, dial and use Caliber 6R5J. Seiko gives the same headline movement specifications for both calibers.

The prices in this table are recommended retail prices in Seiko’s March 2024 US launch announcement; Seiko said prices and specifications were subject to change. They are not current worldwide prices.

What do the movements and specifications have in common?

Seiko specifies both movements at 21,600 vibrations per hour (six beats per second), a 72-hour power reserve and 24 jewels. The gold-colored oscillating weight is visible through the exhibition case back. These are manufacturer specifications, not a claim that one movement performs better than the other.

The 2024 launch specifications give both configurations a 40.2 mm case diameter and 13.0 mm thickness. They also list a stainless-steel case and bracelet with super-hard coating, dual-curved sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a see-through screw case back, 10 bar water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance. Consult the precise regional model listing if you need to confirm a current specification.

How does the Classic Series design differ?

Seiko’s design concept draws on Japanese craftsmanship, textile materials and traditional colors. The radial dial pattern is described as evoking the texture of raw silk yarn, while the overall dial is intended to suggest the graceful drape and texture of finely woven silk. The brand pairs that surface with soft, curved case forms and a dual-curved sapphire crystal that echo the dome-shaped dial.

The multi-row bracelet takes design inspiration from the 1970s. Seiko describes its links as having curved top surfaces and ergonomic shapes, with fewer contact points around the wrist. That is the manufacturer’s design rationale, not independent evidence that the bracelet will feel comfortable on every wrist.

How should you compare the references?

  • Choose a layout: the SPB463, SPB465 and SPB467 show a date; the SPB469 and SPB471 use an open-heart dial.
  • Compare the individual dial colors: check the exact reference on Seiko’s collection page, since the series spans a palette inspired by traditional Japanese textile colors.
  • Consider the shared proportions: all five original references are listed at 40.2 mm in diameter, with a 13.0 mm thickness in the launch specifications.
  • Check your local price and availability: use the exact reference and your regional Seiko listing rather than assuming launch pricing or stock applies where you live.

The official specifications establish the layout and movement split, but they do not show that one reference is more accurate or more comfortable than another. Those judgments require evidence beyond the published product specifications.

What do the listed prices mean today?

Seiko’s March 2024 US release listed SPB465 at USD 950; SPB463 and SPB467 at USD 995; and SPB469 and SPB471 at USD 1,200. A current Seiko US storefront listing instead shows USD 950 for SPB463 and SPB465, and USD 1,125 for SPB469 and SPB471. The current storefront result does not state a price for SPB467 in the cited listing.

These are US figures from different points in time, and the storefront listing is regional. Treat the live listing as a check for that market, not a universal price; confirm current price and availability on the relevant local product page. Seiko’s US storefront listing carries the current figures cited here.
