Water resistance: what the ratings mean for the choice
The Certina’s published rating is substantially higher: up to 1,000 m compared with the Seiko’s 200 m / 660 ft. That difference is relevant if the rating itself is a priority, but it does not show that a 1,000 m watch is necessary for ordinary recreational scuba diving. Nor does the rating alone establish how either watch performs in actual use. Seiko says the SRPE05 follows ISO standards for scuba diving; its product page does not specify the standard number or testing details. Seiko’s product listing and Certina’s listing provide the published ratings.

The Seiko is listed at 45 mm in diameter, compared with 43.5 mm for the cited Certina. The Certina is thicker, at 14.15 mm versus 13.22 mm for the Seiko. A smaller width does not guarantee a more comfortable fit: wrist shape, case proportions, thickness and strap all matter. Try each on if possible rather than choosing by diameter alone.
