Its 44.2 mm lug-to-lug span, 12.1 mm thickness, and 4R36 movement are the most useful details to weigh if you are considering it as a compact sports-style watch. The specifications below are Seiko’s; personal fit, accuracy, and wearing comfort depend on the individual and are not established by those figures.
What the SRPK29 is
Seiko identifies the SRPK29 as a 5 Sports watch in its SKX series. It is the black-dial, black-bezel version of the 38 mm family; related references include the SRPK31, SRPK33, and SRPK35, which use other dial and bezel colors. Reference codes vary by market: a January 2026 review identifies SRPK29 as the US reference and SBSA225 as the Japan reference. The model discussed here is the SRPK29; confirm the exact code on a regional listing before buying.
How the case dimensions translate to fit
Seiko lists a 38.0 mm case diameter, 44.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement, and 12.1 mm thickness. The lug spacing is 20 mm. Taken together, these are more useful for estimating wrist presence than diameter alone: the shorter span may appeal to someone seeking a less wide-wearing sports watch, while the thickness still gives it a substantial profile. Measurements cannot guarantee fit, which also depends on wrist shape, strap or bracelet, and personal preference.

Seiko lists a bracelet length of 205 mm and a total weight of 140 g. Treat those as published model specifications, not a promise that the bracelet will fit every wrist unchanged; the product page does not establish an individual wearer’s fit.
Movement, display, and daily operation
The watch uses Seiko’s 4R36 automatic movement, which can also be wound manually. Seiko states an approximately 41-hour power reserve, 24 jewels, a stop-seconds function, and a day/date display. Stop seconds means the seconds hand can be halted when setting the time; manual winding offers another way to supply energy besides wrist movement. These are movement features, not evidence of a particular example’s timekeeping accuracy.

Materials, bezel, and water resistance
- Crystal: Hardlex, Seiko’s specified crystal material.
- Dial illumination: LumiBrite on the hands and indices. The specification does not establish how long a particular watch remains legible in darkness.
- Bezel: Unidirectional rotating bezel.
- Case back: See-through and screw-down, according to Seiko.
- Water resistance: Seiko publishes a rating of 10 bar. This is the stated rating; it should not be silently recast as a separate certification or as a guarantee for every water activity.
- Magnetic resistance: 4,800 A/m.
- Bracelet clasp: Secure-lock, three-fold clasp with push-button release.

What a hands-on review can—and cannot—tell you
A personal review dated January 8, 2026 describes its author’s experience with the watch. The reviewer says they previously owned an SKX013 and waited for the 38 mm model before buying it. That is useful as an individual account, not proof that the SRPK29 will fit or feel the same for another wearer. Read the account at WatchReviewBlog’s SRPK29 review.
The published specifications do not settle real-world accuracy, bracelet comfort, bezel feel, lume duration, or how the watch sits on a particular wrist. If those are decisive, assess a specific watch in person or seek a review that directly addresses the point and attributes the observation to its wearer.

Who should consider the SRPK29
- It may suit you if you want an automatic day-date watch, prefer a 38 mm case, and value a 44.2 mm lug-to-lug measurement alongside a rotating bezel and stated 10 bar water resistance.
- Check carefully if you need verified accuracy results, a particular bracelet feel, a specified lume duration, or confirmed fit. Those outcomes are not established by Seiko’s product specifications.
- Before ordering a replacement strap, note the 20 mm lug spacing, but verify compatibility with the exact strap and case. A matching width alone does not establish fit or suitable end links.
