What is the Seiko panda watch with ear-shaped pushers?
It is the Seiko Power Design Project Limited Edition “Panda” in White, reference HHK001P1. The watch uses a panda motif throughout rather than merely borrowing the traditional panda-dial colour scheme: a white dial with dark contrasting subdials.
The rounded chronograph pushers are designed to resemble ears. Seiko’s Power Design Project page explains that “The two recessed pushers, inspired by the panda’s ears, operate the chronograph function.” The crown is reduced in size and positioned at 12 o’clock, while the textured dial is intended to evoke panda fur. The subdials suggest drooping eyes, and bamboo-leaf-shaped hands join a printed nose and upturned mouth to complete the face.
Turn the watch over and the caseback relief depicts a panda from behind, including the tail detail referenced in the design. The back also carries the limited-edition marking and individual production number.

UK price, edition size and release timing
Seiko UK lists the HHK001P1 at £510 and announces a release date of 1 November 2026. Its listing describes a worldwide production run of 3,000 and says that in the UK it is exclusive to the Seiko London Boutique and Seiko’s official website. Those are the terms shown on Seiko’s UK listing; preorder status, availability and price can change, so check the listing for current information.

These model-specific figures and descriptions are from Seiko UK’s HHK001P1 product listing. Splash resistance is not a swimming or diving rating. The case dimensions and 14.6 mm thickness are also worth considering if you prefer a compact chronograph; the listed diameter alone does not describe how the watch will wear.

How it differs from Seiko’s other panda chronograph
The HHK001P1 is not the Prospex Speedtimer SRQ047J1. Both draw on panda-watch styling, but they are different watches, with different movements, dimensions, water-resistance ratings, collections and prices.

Figures for the HHK001P1 come from its Seiko UK listing; SRQ047J1 details and price come from Seiko UK’s SRQ047J1 listing. Seiko describes the latter as a reinterpretation of a 1972 panda chronograph, while the broader Speedtimer line takes inspiration from the 1969 Speedtimer. The HHK001P1 is the more overtly character-led design; the SRQ047J1 is a mechanical Prospex model with a higher water-resistance rating. These distinctions matter more than the shared “panda” shorthand.

Who the HHK001P1 is for
The HHK001P1 makes sense for someone drawn to playful, deliberately unusual design and who wants a quartz chronograph rather than a mechanical one. Its face, ear-like pushers and sculpted caseback make the panda theme unusually complete. It is less suited to anyone seeking a conventional tool chronograph or a watch to wear swimming: Seiko specifies only splash resistance.
The 20 mm lug width means compatible straps may be an option, but the listing specifies a leather strap and pin buckle; check attachment and fit before buying a replacement. The official UK sales channels identified by Seiko are its London Boutique and website.
