What watch is the Shinola Station Agent Automatic?
This is an automatic version of the Runwell—not one of Shinola’s quartz Runwell variants. Shinola’s current product listing calls it the “Station Agent Automatic Watch.” The brand says it is assembled in-house in Detroit, while identifying the movement as Swiss-made. That distinction matters: Detroit assembly and design identity do not mean the complete watch or its movement is made in the United States.
Shinola describes it as the first Runwell Automatic with a sub-seconds dial. The white dial adds a date aperture, and the exhibition caseback shows the movement and rotor. The result is a more mechanically focused presentation than a simple three-hand dial, though the added displays make the face more detailed.
What movement is inside?
Shinola specifies a Swiss-made Sellita SW260-1 automatic movement, with 31 jewels and a 38-hour power reserve. It drives the hours, minutes and seconds, as well as the calendar aperture. These are manufacturer specifications; no independent accuracy or performance measurements for this exact model were established.

The exhibition back lets the wearer see the movement and rotor. That visual feature may appeal to buyers who want a mechanical watch they can inspect, but it is not evidence by itself of accuracy or long-term reliability.

Is the Shinola Station Agent Automatic worth its price?
Worth depends on what you prioritize. The case size, Swiss automatic movement, sub-seconds dial, date display and visible movement give the watch a clear identity. Buyers who specifically want a 45mm watch with these features may find that combination compelling. Those seeking a smaller case, a longer stated power reserve, or verified independent performance data should treat the listing as a starting point and compare alternatives on those criteria.
Shinola’s product listing showed a price of $1,395 and “SOLD OUT” when captured in 2026. An older official page showed $1,350, with an estimated-restock field. These are snapshots rather than a current offer or a restock promise: verify the exact model, price and availability with Shinola before buying.

Warranty and servicing considerations
Shinola’s manual says its automatic limited lifetime service warranty covers original-series Runwell Automatic and Shinola Monster watches, requires registration, and applies to qualifying material or workmanship defects during the watch’s natural useful life. The manual lists exclusions including straps and bracelets, water damage, wear and tear, and movement beyond its defined five-year natural-life period for warranty purposes. It also says servicing, repair or engraving by anyone other than Shinola voids the warranty.
Because warranty eligibility and terms can depend on the exact watch, purchase and region, check the current terms that apply to your transaction and register as required. For covered service, follow Shinola’s current instructions rather than arranging work independently.
