The current English-language STERNGLAS listing for the Hamburg Automatik Edition Neuwerk is the Neuwerk 2.0, reference S02-HHN65-VI29. It is a 42 mm automatic watch powered by a Miyota 8215, with a 20 mm strap width and water resistance rated up to 5 ATM. Those are manufacturer specifications, not results from independent wear, timing or water-resistance testing.
Which Neuwerk is this?
STERNGLAS’s current English product page presents the Hamburg Automatik Edition Neuwerk 2.0, reference S02-HHN65-VI29. The “2.0” matters: a separate German listing for the Hamburg Automatik Edition Neuwerk Field Signalgelb is a different watch, reference S02-HHN11-FI01, with a yellow nylon Field strap and its own page-specific availability notice. Do not treat the two listings as interchangeable.
STERNGLAS places Neuwerk about 60 miles from Hamburg in the Wadden Sea and says the island has been connected to Hamburg for centuries. The company describes the 2.0’s storm-grey dial, luminous-orange and red accents as references to the coastal landscape. Its case back shows the movement, and the rotor design is inspired by a ship’s wheel; these are the maker’s design descriptions.
Neuwerk 2.0 dimensions and construction
The technical specification section gives the 2.0 a 42 mm case, 45 mm lug-to-lug length and 20 mm lug width. The lug-to-lug figure is useful when judging how much of the watch will span the wrist; diameter alone does not describe its footprint.

Because STERNGLAS gives two different case-height figures on the same page, the thickness should be treated as unresolved rather than reduced to a single definitive number. The 20 mm lug width makes a compatible replacement strap a reasonable option to explore, but check spring-bar geometry and the strap’s fit; the width alone does not verify compatibility with every third-party strap.
Movement, functions and stated performance
The manufacturer lists a Miyota 8215 automatic caliber, with a maximum power reserve of 42 hours, a frequency of 21,600 A/h (3 Hz), and stated accuracy of -20/+40 seconds per day. These are listed specifications, not timing results from an independent test.
The detailed specification section lists date, hand winding and three-hand functions; the English technical section also lists hacking seconds. The product page’s English and German descriptions differ in some hand details, so consult the exact listing for the version being purchased rather than assuming every localized description is identical.

Dial and strap details
For the Neuwerk 2.0, STERNGLAS specifies a storm-grey, satin-finished dial with Luminova, plus silver hands with Luminova and red accents. The listed strap is Vintage 20 nero-red leather, with a stated length of 119 + 82 mm. This combination is distinct from the Field Signalgelb listing’s grey/orange dial and yellow nylon Field strap.

The listing rates the watch up to 5 ATM. That is the manufacturer’s stated rating; the available product information does not establish independent pressure testing or set out activity-specific guidance for this model. If your intended use depends on water exposure, check STERNGLAS’s instructions for the exact watch and follow its care guidance rather than treating the rating as a report of hands-on testing.

The German STERNGLAS page for the Neuwerk Field Signalgelb, reference S02-HHN11-FI01, describes a 42 mm watch with 20 mm lug width, Miyota 8215 movement, up to 42 hours of power reserve and up to 5 bar water resistance. That specific page says the model is sold out and will not return, while noting it may be available through retail partners. This notice applies to that listing; it does not establish the stock status of Neuwerk 2.0 or other sellers.

Where to find the instructions
STERNGLAS says it replaced paper manuals with a digital manual and that a link and QR code come with the timepiece. Its manuals page lists “Hamburg Auto (incl. Editions)” under Automatik. Use the model instructions there for operating and setting details.
Is the Hamburg Automatik Edition Neuwerk worth considering?
The Neuwerk 2.0 is most straightforward to assess as a design-led, 42 mm automatic with a named movement, sapphire crystal, date, and a 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement. Whether it suits you depends in part on wrist fit, since the page’s case-height entries conflict, and on whether its stated functions and 5 ATM rating match how you plan to use a watch. There is no independent test evidence here to support claims about real-world timekeeping, comfort, legibility or water performance, and no price or competing model is established for a like-for-like value comparison.
