They are personal picks, not event awards or the result of a single scoring system: the best choice depends on what you want to wear.
What “best” means in Mike’s picks
In his April 7, 2025 Fratello Favorites article, Michael Stockton selects five watches that caught his eye. He does not rank them against a uniform set of criteria, so the list is best read as a snapshot of his taste rather than an objective verdict. The watches make different cases: a classic dress watch, a highly complicated limited edition, an integrated-bracelet design, a precision-focused Spring Drive, and a sporty chronograph.

The event itself ran from April 1 through April 7, with the general public admitted April 5–7 following four professional days. Watches and Wonders Geneva reported 60 exhibiting maisons and more than 55,000 visitors throughout the week. Those are the organizer’s figures, not independent attendance estimates. Its event page described the show as “A wealth of new releases and animations, a true testimony to the vitality of the Swiss watchmaking industry.” Watches and Wonders Geneva 2025.
Mike Stockton’s five favorite releases
1. Patek Philippe 6196P: a restrained Calatrava
Stockton had been hoping to see a plain Calatrava, and the 6196P delivered that idea in a platinum case with a salmon-colored dial. His April 2025 article lists a 38 mm case, caliber 30-255 PS, a 65-hour power reserve, and a €47,520 retail price. He appreciates its quiet dress-watch character, though he would personally prefer a smaller case and central seconds. The price is the one reported in that article; retail prices can change.

2. Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11: a rare, historically minded complication
This is the most technically elaborate watch among the five: Stockton calls attention to its white Grand Feu enamel dial, true-beat seconds, and 100-hour power reserve. The 41.5 mm watch was limited to 11 pieces, with the article listing a price of CHF 129,800. Stockton found the case too large for his wrist. His historical interest comes from the connection between Abraham-Louis Breguet and John Arnold, whose names and watchmaking legacies inform the model’s story.
3. Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm Stone Blue: an integrated-bracelet design
Stockton acknowledges that the Tonda PF 36mm Stone Blue was not a novelty in the strictest sense; it was simply his first encounter with it. He praises the integrated bracelet’s slimness, the platinum bezel, and the uncluttered dial. The watch uses the automatic PF770-HM movement, with a 60-hour power reserve. His article gives its price as CHF 21,400 and describes its effect on the wrist as jewelry-like—a personal impression rather than a technical measurement.

4. Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB003: a light titanium watch with a precision claim
The SLGB003 pairs a 37 mm titanium case and bracelet with Grand Seiko’s 9RB2 Spring Drive caliber. Stockton reports a 72-hour power reserve and an accuracy claim of ±20 seconds per year, based on information from Grand Seiko UK; that figure is a manufacturer claim relayed by the writer, not an independent test result. He also highlights the dial and the watch’s light feel on the wrist. His article lists a €12,000 price.
5. Eberhard Contodat Chronograph: a compact 1970s-inspired option
Inspired by the early-1970s Contograf, the Contodat Chronograph is a 39 mm reissue with a Sellita movement, bracelet, and 100 m water resistance. Stockton says the watch fits him nicely and puts its price below €3,970 in his article. Both the fit assessment and his favorable view of its value are personal judgments.

How to choose among the five
Start with the kind of watch you want, then weigh case size and material, movement features, and the price reported in Stockton’s 2025 article. The prices below preserve that historical context; they are not assurances of current pricing or availability.
| Watch | Character | Size and material | Movement and stated performance | Price in Stockton’s April 2025 article |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Patek Philippe 6196P | Restrained dress watch | 38 mm; platinum case | Caliber 30-255 PS; 65-hour power reserve | €47,520 |
| Arnold & Son Constant Force Tourbillon 11 | Limited-edition complication with true-beat seconds | 41.5 mm; case material not stated in the article | 100-hour power reserve | CHF 129,800; limited to 11 pieces |
| Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF 36mm Stone Blue | Integrated-bracelet design | 36 mm; platinum bezel | Automatic PF770-HM; 60-hour power reserve | CHF 21,400 |
| Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB003 | Precision-focused Spring Drive | 37 mm; titanium case and bracelet | 9RB2 Spring Drive; 72-hour power reserve; claimed accuracy ±20 seconds per year, as reported by Stockton from Grand Seiko UK | €12,000 |
| Eberhard Contodat Chronograph | Sporty chronograph inspired by the early-1970s Contograf | 39 mm; case material not stated in the article | Sellita movement; 100 m water resistance | Under €3,970 |
If a traditional, understated dress watch is the priority, the Patek is Stockton’s clearest fit—provided its size suits you. The Arnold & Son is the specialist’s pick for its complication, enamel dial, and very small edition. For an integrated bracelet and jewelry-like presence, consider the Parmigiani; for a lightweight titanium watch with a reported annual-accuracy figure, the Grand Seiko stands apart. The Eberhard offers the most overtly sporty chronograph design in this group. These are ways to sort the list by preference, not a universal ranking.

A personal favorites list answers a different question from a selection intended to identify the year’s biggest horological developments. Fratello’s separate list of five significant watches uses broader horological development and trend relevance as its frame; it should not be treated as a scoring rubric for Stockton’s picks. The official Watches and Wonders novelty catalogue documents the wider release context, including models such as the Rolex Land-Dweller, while Jaeger-LeCoultre’s event page lists 15 novelties, including multiple Reverso Tribute variants. These catalogues establish what was presented, not which watches are best. Official novelty catalogue; Jaeger-LeCoultre at Watches and Wonders; Fratello’s separate significant-watches list.
