Credor’s 2026 Goldfeather releases pair painstaking Japanese dial and case work with restrained, thin dress-watch proportions—but their European launch recommendations range from €15,000 to €195,000, and each edition is limited to 60 or 25 pieces. “Forbidden fruit” is an interpretation of their rarity and prices, not Credor’s description; the watches are compelling precisely because their craft is tangible while access is necessarily narrow.
What is the Credor Goldfeather?
Credor says the Goldfeather was first launched in 1960 and reborn as the modern Credor Goldfeather in 2023. In its January 7, 2026 release, the brand described the design as a modern dress watch seeking to embody a feather’s qualities: “thin, light, smooth, elegant, and graceful.” That language is Credor’s own framing, and the 2026 models make the idea visible in slim cases and carefully worked dials rather than in sports-watch toughness or visual excess.
The 2026 additions are three distinct expressions: a stainless-steel watch with Imari Nabeshima porcelain, a platinum watch with blue urushi lacquer and taka maki-e, and a platinum tourbillon with an engraved case. Their differences are not merely cosmetic: the tourbillon has a different movement and a much higher announced price, while the porcelain model is the least scarce and least expensive of the three.
How do the three 2026 models compare?
| Model | Dial and execution | Case and movement | Dimensions | Edition and Europe launch recommendation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GCBY991 | Imari Nabeshima porcelain | Stainless steel; manual Caliber 6890 | 37.1 mm diameter × 8.3 mm thick | 60 pieces; €15,000 (Credor Europe recommended retail price, January 7, 2026 release) |
| GBBY967 | Deep-blue gradient urushi lacquer with taka maki-e | Platinum 950; manual Caliber 6890 | 37.4 mm diameter × 8.1 mm thick | 25 pieces; €39,000 (Credor Europe recommended retail price, April 1, 2026 release) |
| GBCF997 | Engraved tourbillon execution | Platinum 950; manual Caliber 6850 tourbillon | 38.6 mm diameter × 8.6 mm thick | 25 pieces; €195,000 (Credor Europe recommended retail price, April 1, 2026 release) |
All three releases state 3 bar water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance. Those figures are product specifications, not a reason to treat these as watches designed for demanding aquatic or magnetic environments.

What makes the porcelain dial special?
The GCBY991 uses Imari Nabeshima porcelain, an especially exacting choice for a thin, curved watch dial. Credor says the firing process is controlled to prevent warping at high temperatures while achieving the dial’s signature curve. That process addresses a practical challenge—preserving shape through firing—while giving the otherwise restrained Goldfeather a distinctly ceramic surface.
The watch is the only 2026 model here in stainless steel. Its hand-wound Caliber 6890 is 1.98 mm thick, runs at 21,600 vibrations per hour, and has a stated 37-hour power reserve and 22 jewels. Credor’s release gives the watch dimensions as 37.1 mm by 8.3 mm, and limits production to 60 pieces. Its European recommended retail price at announcement was €15,000.

What sets the urushi and maki-e model apart?
The GBBY967 combines a platinum 950 case with a deep-blue gradient urushi lacquer dial and taka maki-e. Urushi is lacquer; taka maki-e is a raised decorative technique. The effect is a richer, more artisanal treatment than the porcelain model, matched to a precious-metal case but still housed in a slim 37.4 mm by 8.1 mm profile.
It uses the same manual Caliber 6890 as the porcelain watch. Credor lists 21,600 vibrations per hour, 37 hours of power reserve, 22 jewels, and stated accuracy of +25/-15 seconds per day. The release also specifies 3 bar water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance. Production is limited to 25 pieces; Credor Europe’s April 1, 2026 recommended retail price was €39,000. Credor says the crocodile leather strap comes from Leather Working Group-certified tanneries.

Why does the engraved tourbillon cost so much more?
The GBCF997 is the technically and financially most ambitious of the three. Its platinum 950 case surrounds the manual Caliber 6850 tourbillon, which Credor lists at 3.98 mm thick, 21,600 vibrations per hour, 60 hours of power reserve, 22 jewels, and stated accuracy of +15/-10 seconds per day. The watch measures 38.6 mm across and 8.6 mm thick.
The tourbillon adds a substantial complication, while the platinum case and engraved execution distinguish it from the two Caliber 6890 watches. Credor limited the model to 25 pieces and set its European recommended retail price at €195,000 in the April 1, 2026 announcement. The release specifies 3 bar water resistance and 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance.

What do the prices and limited editions mean for buyers?
These are launch recommendations, not evidence of current asking prices or remaining stock. Credor’s releases announced availability from February 2026 for the GCBY991, June 2026 for the GBBY967, and August 2026 for the GBCF997; those dates do not establish whether any example remains available now. Check a local authorized retailer for present stock and pricing.
Credor also lists domestic Japanese prices on its Goldfeather collection page: ¥1,980,000 for GCBY991, ¥5,500,000 for GBBY967, and ¥28,600,000 for GBCF997, tax-inclusive as shown on that changing page. These are Japan-market figures and should not be treated as direct equivalents to the European launch recommendations, since market, taxes, and page date differ.

The edition sizes communicate production limits, not demand or availability. Credor’s official launch materials give no independent market-size or consumer-demand statistics, so scarcity should be understood literally as a stated edition count rather than as proof of resale performance or unmet demand.
How does the 2026 tourbillon relate to the earlier Goldfeather?
Credor announced the GBCF999 tourbillon in July 2025 as a recent predecessor to the GBCF997. It also used platinum, urushi techniques, and Caliber 6850, with a 60-hour power reserve and dimensions of 38.6 mm by 8.6 mm. Credor limited that earlier model to 10 pieces and gave it a European recommended retail price of €190,000 at release. The 2026 GBCF997 therefore shares the movement and dimensions but has a larger stated edition and a higher announced European recommendation; neither release establishes current market value.
